this is another downside of these subprime cards - another reason to add why i regret getting them. Their reporting is super delayed and/or inconsistant - i have merrick currently reporting 2 times the same account on my TU - at one point it was reporting a really old credit limit and balance - once i disputed the account instead of deleting it they just updated the balance to 0 and increased the credit limit. I dont have the energy to try to get the duplicate removed but hey at least its reporting 2 positive accounts ( a benefit maybe lol)

Same here.

It's my AZEO card so I wasn't too concerned, but now that I want to close it, I have to wait for them to get their act together. 🤬

I can't close it till it's showing zero on all 3.

I am having the same problem with that Mercury MC. which I also want to close.

You can close both if they're $0 balance. That may force the them to report the closed account to the CRA's. Then it will show up as such.

Looking through my credit reports earlier, I noticed that my Merrick Bank credit card stopped reporting to EQ in May, however, it reported to both TU and EX last month. After waiting on hold for two hours, the only answer I got was, "We are working on it." They couldn't give me any further answers when I asked if others were having similar issues, if this was a known problem, etc.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Sounds like they may have a glitch with the were working on it statement. They claim to report to all 3 CRA's. So you could wait another cycle and see if it fixes itself. Or since its inaccurate on TU. You can file a dispute and may force MB to update it.

Not sure if at all related but Merrick is currently switiching their Visa cards to Mastercards. Perhaps this is the cause of the glitchy reporting?

Thanks for posting this so I know I'm not alone. I closed my Merrick account a couple months back. TU is showing closed and PIF, EQ is still showing a balance and the last update was in May. If it's still there in October I'll just dispute it since Merrick doesn't seem to want to be transparent about the situation.

Merrick has not updated my EQ since June. It updated Ex in July and should have updated around the 16th of Aug. but just updated today on the 26th.

Didn't really think about the switching over to Mastercard causing a problem but that's probably a part of it.

I know my Comentity Overstock hasn't updated since June due to some problems they were having. Maybe in Sept?

Merrick is STILL not reporting to EQ. My last Merrick update to EQ is 6/1. It was my AZEO card with a $100 balance. It's at zero now, and one of my TDBank card is now my AZEO balance card. I do not want to close EQ until it's actually reporting zero across the board because I do not trust them to update on closing. I would rather not have to go through the hassle of disputing. I just want Merrick to do its job. I asked so little from it. Their attitude about failing to report (just like Mercury MCs. now corrected) is just to casual for my taste. I do not want to close this, and run the risk of it reporting as a $113 balance on a zero (closed) credit line. I might call them tomorrow again.

Reviews for "Merrick Bank's role in enhancing the Orlando Magic's brand image"

1. John - 1 star - I had a really terrible experience with Merrick Bank during my dealings with the Orlando Magic. Their customer service was absolutely abysmal. I tried reaching out multiple times to resolve an issue with my credit card, but I was met with long wait times and unhelpful representatives. It seemed like they didn't care at all about my concerns and were just looking to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. I will never do business with Merrick Bank again due to this dreadful experience.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - I was quite disappointed with Merrick Bank's partnership with the Orlando Magic. The credit card they offered had very limited benefits and the rewards program was hardly worth it. I found the interest rates to be incredibly high, and even though I have a good credit score, I didn't receive any special perks or advantages. It felt like a missed opportunity for both Merrick Bank and the Orlando Magic to truly provide something valuable to their customers. I won't be using their services again.
3. Robert - 1 star - My experience with Merrick Bank in conjunction with the Orlando Magic was extremely frustrating. Not only did it take weeks for my credit card application to be approved, but when I finally received the card, it didn't work properly. I tried using it at multiple locations and it was consistently declined, even though I had available credit. The lack of reliability and poor customer service from both Merrick Bank and the Orlando Magic left a sour taste in my mouth. I would caution anyone considering this partnership to think twice before signing up.
