Also, candles made with both paraffin wax and fragrance oils synthetic fragrances tend to be easier to produce when it comes to giving off a good hot scent throw. Eventhough the sent is really nice and fresh, in our mind it doesn t really compare with the smell we ve experienced at the Art of Animation Resort during our trip.

Magic Candle Company | Review
When you walk through a Disney park, a Disney hotel or Resort there is always a nice smell. Most people don’t really notice it, but when you walk through Main Street you will smell the bakery, flowers or the candy store and if there is a popcorn booth nearby you will smell it instantly. If you’ve ever been to Epcot and went on Soarin‘ you might have noticed that every time you flight over a new land a new smell will appear.
Disney uses smell machines called, smelletizers, throughout the Parks and Resorts so it smells always really nice. This way Disney can control their quests on buying popcorn or that perfect smelling cupcake. We know it sounds really creepy, but we absolutely love the smells and wanted to have that extra bit of magic in our house.
So after our trip to Walt Disney World, where they make great use of those smellitizers. We felt really sad and went online to find some solutions for it and found this amazing solution.
If you go online you will find a lot of stores, especially on Etsy, who sell candles with all sorts of Disney smells, but we didn’t want a candle so we went looking farther. After a little search we found the magic candle company. A company that sells all things related to the Disney smells and bringing those amazing memory’s back. Of course they also sell candles, but that wasn’t what made them stand out, because they also sell essential oils, wax melts, bath bobs, shower melts, room sprays and air fresheners for in the car.
Once we looked at there available sentences we were blown away and had a really hard time picking which ones we wanted. We choose to order 4 essentials oils.
After a long debate we choose:
- The Bakery, the smell you will find at Main Street (WDW and DLP)
- The Contemporary : This is a Resort which is really special to us.
- Animation : The Art of Animation is one of the Resorts we stayed at.
- Little Old Christmas Shop: We ordered around Christmas time.
Since we live in The Netherlands it took a little over a week to get to us and the price including the shipping was pretty expensive for a couple of essential oils, but it was worth every single Penny.
Ofcourse we had to try the Little Old Christmas Shop first since it was almost Christmas and we absolutely loved it. It smells like a Christmas tree and all of the nice warm sent that rises the Christmas feeling instantly.
The bakery is Pelle’s ultimate favorite, he wants this sent in our house all day, everyday. It really smells like you are back at a Disney park walking on Main Street.. It really brings back memories and a happy feeling.
Lisanne’s favorite is Contemporary, during our Honeymoon we spend quite some time at the Contemporary Resort to have a little break outside of the Parks. This sent really brings her back to the Resort and the happy memories we’ve experienced there.
Animation is one of the Resorts we stayed in during our Walt Disney World trip last year. We will never forget the first time we walked into the main building of the resort and were blown away by the smell. Eventhough the sent is really nice and fresh, in our mind it doesn’t really compare with the smell we’ve experienced at the Art of Animation Resort during our trip. But we still love it!
So our first experience was really good and 6 months after our first order we decided to place a new order. But the shipping costs where a little bit more expensive which made us think a couple of times before we actually made the order. Luckily a colleague of Pelle worked in the USA at that time and he let us send the order to his house and once he came back to The Netherlands he brought it back to us. So it took a little longer to get to us, but we were still really excited because we ordered some new fragrances.
Again we order 4 essential oils and this time we ordered:
- Contemporary : Since the Contemporary is the oil that has been used the most in our house so we had the order this one again.
- The Confectionery : Pelle really wanted to try this one out.
- The flower market : This is a sent that Lisanne wanted to try
- Flying over Fyi : Our favorite smell from the ride Soarin’ at Epcot.
We were really excited to try out Flying over Fyi and wow, this sent is amazing and really brings you back to the ride experience.
The next scent we tried was the flower market and trust us that sent is amazing. It smell like you just put some fresh flowers in your house, which is a really nice sent. But we have never smelled it during any of our Disney trips, but if you know where we’ll able to find this sent at the parks, please let us know.
And last but not least the confectionary, it is a really sweet sent, not the “candy” sweet we were expecting. But still you will be able to smell a sweet sent, but if you didn’t know it was a confectionary you wouldn’t know. But we think that’s better so you can actually use it in your house without eating so much candy.
So the sents of the Magic Candle Company are amazing and really nice if you want to add a little bit of extra Disney magic to your house, room or day. We are obsessed and are going to order again later this year for sure. It would be even better if we didn’t had to pay so much shipping costs, but maby it is better this way, so we have a little bit of money left, haha.
Please note: that you should always have a window open one you put the diffuser on and don’t put to much drops in the water, 2 – 4 is more than enough. After 2 days the oils will start to smell a little, so make sure to refresh the oils every other day before use.
