The Witch Hunt in Williamsburg: A Dark Chapter in Colonial History

By admin

Shed Tears in Williamsburg: Williamsburg, a historic town in Virginia, is known for its rich colonial past and preserved architecture. However, beneath its picturesque surface, lies a haunting history that still brings tears to the eyes of many. During the 17th century, Williamsburg was a prominent hub of the witch trials that plagued the New England colonies. Accusations of witchcraft created a climate of fear and paranoia, leading to the unjust persecution of innocent individuals, predominantly women. The trials were fueled by superstition, religious fervor, and societal tensions. This hysteria resulted in the shedding of countless tears as families were torn apart, friendships shattered, and lives destroyed.

This hysteria resulted in the shedding of countless tears as families were torn apart, friendships shattered, and lives destroyed. The accused were subjected to harsh interrogations and cruel punishments, all based on unfounded accusations and the contradictory testimonies of hysterical witnesses. In Williamsburg, tears stained the streets as innocent women were dragged to the gallows or burned at the stake.

Constructing a magic square

I am currently learning about magic squares and I want to construct a magic square. How do I construct a 6-by-6 or a 7-by-7 filled magic square, using the integers 0 to 35 or 0 to 48.

$\begingroup$ @servabat Yes, there are. Put a $0$ on an $1\times 1$ square. Or take any magic square and choose any number $n$ in it. Substract $n$ to every number in square, and you will obtain another magic square that has a $0$. $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @ajotatxe : Well, if you put $0$ in $1 \times 1$ square, the sum is equal to $0$ and not $1 = \frac<1(1^2 + 1)>$ (the magic sum). Maybe haven't we the same definition of magic squares then. $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @servabat I think taht we are working with different definitions of magic squares. My conditions are that every row, column and diagonal add up the same number. You add the condition of that the numbers must be from $1$ to $n^2$. $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @ajotatxe : Well, indeed, I was actually quite stupid, if you substract $1$ in any row of a magic square with numbers from $1$ to $n^2$ you get a magic square with numbers from $0$ to $n^2 - 1$ of magic sum $\frac - 3$ I guess. $\endgroup$
