Exploring the Role of the Angel in Pagan Yule Traditions

By admin

The Pagan Yule tree angel is a unique and non-traditional alternative to the traditional Christian angel that is typically placed on top of a Christmas tree. This pagan-inspired angel represents the winter solstice festival known as Yule, which is celebrated by modern-day pagans and Wiccans. The main idea is that the pagan Yule tree angel offers a different perspective and symbolizes the connection between nature and spirituality. Unlike the traditional Christian angel, the pagan Yule tree angel is often depicted as a female figure with long flowing hair, holding symbols such as a staff or a crystal ball. The Yule tree angel also represents the divine feminine energy and the goddess within paganism. This depiction emphasizes the importance of female power and fertility during the winter season.

This depiction emphasizes the importance of female power and fertility during the winter season. Furthermore, the pagan Yule tree angel serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth. It symbolizes the hope and renewal that comes with the return of the sun and the lengthening days after the darkness of winter.

There are three Eye Runes in Bloodborne, spread across the overworld and Chalice Dungeons. Their locations are as follows:

  • Eye Rune (1) – Nightmare of Mensis
  • Eye Rune (2) – found by killing Master Willem in Byrgenwerth
  • Eye Rune (3) – found in a glyph-generated Chalice Dungeon

We’ll cover exactly how to find each of these Runes down below.

Eye Rune (1) – The Nightmare Of Mensis

The Nightmare of Mensis

Eye Rune (1) is the weakest of the Eye Runes, raising your item discovery stat by 50 points.

It can be found in the Nightmare of Mensis, a late-game area you’ll find naturally. Once you’ve unlocked it, warp to the Nightmare of Mensis Lamp from the Hunter’s Dream to get started.

The Nightmare of Mensis Lamp

From the Lamp, walk forward and turn right when you reach the first Beast. Turning here will take you down a narrow side-path that wraps around the cliff.

Continue walking down this path, and be sure to use Sedatives or Blood Vials to avoid dying to the Frenzy that will start ticking up.

Along the path will be two large enemies surrounding a glowing item – this is the Eye Rune.

You can kill these enemies to get this rune, but you may find it easier to draw their attention, then lure them away from the item.

Once they’ve moved, you can run in, grab the Rune, and leave.

Eye Rune (2) – Killing Master Willem

Eye Rune (2) item description

The second Eye Rune raises your discovery stat by 70 points. It can be found in Byrgenwerth by killing Master Willem.

To find him, simply warp to the Byrgenwerth Lamp, then follow the linear path through Byrgenwerth College until you reach the platform above the lake.

Once you’re up here, you can kill Master Willem. He won’t fight back, so it’s safe to do this regardless of how strong your character is.

Eye Rune (3) – Glyph-generated Chalice Dungeon

Collecting Eye Rune (3) in a Chalice Dungeon

The strongest Eye Rune can be found as a random item in the deepest naturally occurring Chalice Dungeons.

Luckily, you can avoid any randomness by generating a Chalice Dungeon yourself.

Before you can do that, you’ll have to unlock access to the Chalice Dungeons, then complete the first Pthumeru Labyrinth.

If you’ve already done this, skip ahead to the section titled ‘The Eye Rune Chalice Dungeon’. If not, continue reading on.

Getting Started With Chalice Dungeons

To gain the ability to create Chalice Dungeons, you’ll first have to kill the Blood-starved Beast in Old Yharnam to get the Pthumeru Chalice.

The Pthumeru Chalice’s item description

Once you’ve got the Pthumeru Chalice, you’ll have to use it to complete a Pthumeru Labyrinth before you can generate the Dungeon that holds the Eye Rune.

To do this, head to the Chalice Dungeon headstones in the Hunter’s Dream. Interact with one and choose the ‘Chalice Ritual’ option, then select the Pthumeru Chalice.

You’ll need two Ritual Blood (1) to create this Chalice. If you don’t have any, you can purchase some from the Hunter’s Dream Messenger Shop.

The Hunter’s Dream Messenger Shop

With the Pthumeru Chalice selected, choose ‘Conduct Ritual’ to open a gateway to the Chalice Dungeons, lighting the tombstone up.

Interact with the tombstone again to enter the Labyrinth. Once inside, you’ll have to explore the dungeon in search of a large lever that will open the gate to the Dungeon’s first boss.

The lever that opens the boss room

Thanks to the Chalice Dungeon’s semi-random layout, this lever will be in a different place each time a non-glyph Dungeon is created. Explore thoroughly and you should easily find the lever.

Once the lever is pulled, you can confront the boss of that floor behind the suspicious looking door that you’ve no doubt already found during your exploration of the Dungeon.

The door to the boss room

Kill the boss inside, then continue onwards to reach the next floor.

To unlock the ability to generate the Chalice Dungeon that holds the Eye Rune, you’ll have to venture through this Pthumerian Labyrinth until you reach and defeat the Merciless Watchers boss on Floor 2.

The Merciless Watchers boss fight

Once the Merciless Watchers are defeated, you’ll receive the Pthumeru Root Chalice, the last item you need to generate the Eye Rune Chalice Dungeon.

Generating The Chalice Dungeon

Once you have the Pthumeru Root Chalice, head over to an unused Chalice Dungeon headstone. Interact with it and choose to ‘Search by Chalice Glyph’.

To generate the right Dungeon, enter this code exactly: p2tbyrh2

Entering the glyph code to generate the Chalice Dungeon

When the search is complete, select the Pthumerian Labyrinth that appears, then choose to join it.

You can now enter the Chalice Dungeon to find the Eye Rune.

Once inside, be ready for a tough fight ahead. This Dungeon is full of end-game enemies.

Luckily, this Chalice Dungeon is always laid out in the same way, so you can follow an exact route to the Eye Rune and get through the Dungeon quickly.

The coffin that holds the final Eye Rune

From the starting Lamp, walk out into the corridor and open the first door on your left. Walk down the stairs here, taking out the enemies as you go.

Once you reach a circular opening with a cage in the center, look around for a ladder on the wall and climb it.

At the top, look to your right and head through the door here.

The doorway that leads further into the Dungeon, viewed from the top of the ladder

Walk down the corridor past the door, watching for moving boulders as you do. Turn right at its end and take out the enemies back here, then keep walking.

Turn right again at the end of the path, then follow the corridor until you reach a bridge with many swinging traps.

The bridge covered in traps

When it’s safe to do so, run across the bridge and take out the enemies, then run into the room ahead of you.

Kill the Brainsucker here, then find the large coffin at the back of the room. Open it to claim the Eye Rune.

Reviews for "The Pagan Yule Tree Angel: A Symbol of Peace and Protection During the Winter Solstice"

1. Sarah - 2/5 - I was really disappointed with the Pagan Yule Tree Angel. The quality of the product was definitely not worth the price. It looked cheaply made and the materials used felt flimsy. Additionally, the design was not what I expected. The angel was supposed to have a pagan-inspired look, but it just looked like a generic angel tree topper. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product to others.
2. John - 1/5 - I purchased the Pagan Yule Tree Angel and I regretted it immediately. The product arrived damaged with several parts broken off. The packaging was also poorly done, which resulted in further damage during transit. The customer service was unhelpful and refused to provide a refund or exchange. I was extremely disappointed with the overall experience and would advise others to steer clear of this product.
3. Emma - 2/5 - The Pagan Yule Tree Angel was a letdown for me. The description made it seem like a unique and beautiful tree topper, but in reality, it was quite underwhelming. The angel had a generic design that lacked the intricate details I was expecting. The colors also looked faded and not as vibrant as advertised. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality and craftsmanship. I would not repurchase or recommend this product to others.
