The Role of Moon Transitions in Wiccan Divination Practices

By admin

Wicca is a modern pagan witchcraft religion that draws inspiration from ancient pagan practices and beliefs. One important element of Wiccan spirituality is the recognition and honoring of the moon's cycles and transitions. The moon is seen as a powerful symbol of transformation, magic, and feminine energy in Wiccan belief. In Wicca, practitioners pay close attention to the phases of the moon and the energy it brings. There are generally eight phases in the lunar cycle: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, and waning crescent. Each phase is associated with different energies and has its own significance in Wiccan practices.

Оригинал поста: manjirou 14 petals from a Venus Aurorealis. 2 drops of mucus secreted from a Wormwood Frog. A cup of lukewarm milk squeezed from a Highland goat. All of those ingredients were soon poured in the cauldron as the musk of the concoction wafted through the room. Numerous recipe books and empty vials and jars were strewn all across the room but you didn’t bother to clean it up. The murky concoction before you was of utmost importance. Without looking away from the mixture, you grabbed a thermometer from the side of you, not even stopping your stirring in fear of burning it. After you placed the thermometer, you waited for the meter to reach the optimal temperature. “Let’s see…” You sighed out, looking over to the recipe book which was scribbled in random notes courtesy by you and searched for the next step.
“Turn off the fire and continue stirring slowly until the mixture becomes a soft pink color.” You read out loud. When you looked over to the thermometer, you gasped when the meter was nearing the desired temperature. You snatched your wand from your lap and cast the spell to remove the fire. Letting out a sigh of relief that your potion wasn’t ruined, you continue to stir as you wait for the desired color. It was ridiculous, seeing as how you put so much focus in mere stirring but you wanted this to be foolproof. You want this to work. Like a cloud, the once murky liquid now became a nice, soft pink-ish color as you squealed in glee. Quickly taking a reserved, clean jar, you picked up a ladle and gently poured the potion in it. With excitement coursing through your veins, you stood up from your aching sitting position and whooped that you finally concocted the potion. “A love potion? What are you gonna do with that?” You, however, didn’t anticipate the sudden voice of your crush near your voice. As such, the potion flew away from your hands as the contents spilled right into your open mouth. Maybe it will teach you a lesson to close up bottles filled with liquid. “Ah no…” Sucy muttered, eyeing the sudden pinkness surrounding your irises. Without warning, you turned to Sucy, a love stricken expression right across your face as you wrapped your arms around her, head nuzzling against her shoulder. “Sucy! My darling princess toadstool! You look so amazing as always!” You rambled, disregarding the look of disgust on Sucy’s face. Sucy let out a heavy sigh. “This is why I’m the only one who should mess with potions.”
“And she’s been like that ever since this morning?” Sucy let out a sound of affirmation, grunting as she felt your arms wrap around her waist. No matter how many times she said no, you wouldn’t let up. So she lets you lie down on her lap as she searches the potions book she got from the library to fix you. Akko and Lotte could only watch helplessly as their gloomy friend searched for the answers while seeing you hug Sucy like a koala bear. “Sucy…” You drawled out, legs swinging to and fro. “Let’s go out to a cafe! I wanna feed you some baumkuchen cake!” The girl beneath you groaned once more, shifting uncomfortably in her seat. “This is annoying. I can’t concentrate at all with them breathing down my neck.”
She heard Lotte giggle softly. “I don’t know Sucy… You seem to be enjoying it a bit.” Sucy scoffed, turning the next page of the book. “Does it look like I enjoy this? Have you not seen me interact with Akko?” “Hey!” Akko exclaimed, Sucy practically hearing her pout. “But anyway, you should totally make the most of the potion’s effect! It might be worth your time to at least be on a date with them!” The girl could only groan from Akko’s words but didn’t bother to answer her back. Her eyes finally landed on a purifying potion that only required simple ingredients that she already has. With a sigh, she bookmarked the page with a free bookmark that she got from Lotte and tucked it in the spine. “Well, I found the page. You two better leave or else I’ll end up making the same mistake as this one here.” Sucy said, looking down at your love stricken face. “Oh, alright then…” Lotte muttered. “Good luck with the potion making, Sucy.” “I’m just saying that you’re missing out!” The annoying voice of Akko. She heard their footsteps went away and the door closing. With enough force, Sucy pushed you away from her as she stood up quickly to gather the necessary items. Once she got them all in her cauldron, she grabbed her wand and immediately started the fire underneath it. While she prepared the ingredients, she could only listen to your limitless compliments. “Your hair is as soft as the smoothest silk, my toadstool princess.” “Have I ever mentioned how your eyes shine like stars?” “Aaaah, just holding your hand is such a joy!” And every other compliment much like those three were being shoved inside Sucy’s ears. As much as she wanted to work in peace, she can’t deny the sudden palpitation of her heart when she hears them. Every time a compliment was thrown, her hands would tremble for just a moment, almost messing up the creation. Thankfully it didn’t as Sucy already had the potion ready in under an hour. As she poured the concoction in the vial, she placed her thumb on the hole to make sure it doesn’t spill. “Hey,” Sucy called out your name. Like an energetic puppy, you immediately sprang up, practically skipping in front of Sucy with arms raised up to give her a hug. Unluckily for you, she sidestepped at the right time, with you diving head-first on her work desk. Sucy ignored the crash as she presented the potion to you. “Drink it.” She said. “I can’t stand to hear you babble on and on with your sappy words.” You pouted, recovering from your crash as you stared at Sucy. “But I mean it! I really truly do like you lots, Sucy!” With trembling hands and a heart, she shoved the vial to your chest, the contents shaking violently from the move. “Just drink it! You’re just under the influence of the potion!” You furrowed your eyebrows at her stubbornness, but then you got an idea as you smirked. “Only if you go out with me.” Sucy groaned for the umpteenth time this day. “Can you be any more annoying?” “No joke.” You said, your face suddenly turning serious that surprised Sucy. “Said so yourself, I’m under the influence of the potion so I’ll practically forget this ever happen. Just say yes, and I’ll drink it.” Even though Sucy loved the idea of you already being quiet, she suddenly started to hesitate. All of your compliments, your affection given to her, the nice things directed to her would no longer be remembered by you. With a heavy heart, she nodded and gave the potion in your hands as you drank it all in one swig. Your eyes, she noticed, no longer had the pink in it as you’re finally normal again. Well, as normal as you could be in her standards. Before she could even lecture you about potion making, you grabbed her wrist and tugged her forward, bringing her lips against yours in the most sweetest (and might Sucy add first) kiss she and you ever had. When you pulled away, a cocky smirk played on your lips. “So how about that date, my toadstool princess?”

Оригинал поста: kumiiko “Amanda, you’re staring again.”
The girl flinched when she heard Yazminka say those words. Amanda lowered her broom as she slouched on the broomstick. Yazminka merely smiled softly at her friend, taking another bite of the cake Diana made for her as she watched Amanda silently fume amusing. It was amusing to be honest, watching her friend internally seethe as she watches her crush gets flirted by a different student of Luna Nova. Amanda then floated upwards as she began to glare again at the sight of the nameless witch flirting at you. Her hands, which were gripping the stick, were beginning to tighten as veins started to pop out. “You know, it wouldn’t hurt to just talk to them.” Yazminka said, staring up at Amanda. Amanda clicked her tongue. “It ain’t that easy, Yaz. They’re too–” “Pretty? Amazing? Way out of my league?” “W-Watch what you’re saying! I don’t say those things!” “Your sleep talking says otherwise.” Amanda gritted her teeth and lowered so she stopped watching the gross sight as she hopped over to Constanze who was busy with another invention. “Whatever. At least Constanze keeps quiet.” Amanda said smugly, crouching down near Constanze. “Right, buddy?” Her grunts caught Amanda’s attention. When she turned to the smaller girl, Constanze had a tiny owl-like robot in her hands; its jade green eyes glinted in the noon sun as its mechanical beak opened and closed: “Tell it to them straight, you orange brat!” “I’m unfriending all of you when I get my crystal ball!” Constanze and Yazminka breathed out heavily through their noses at their friend’s annoying pride. The two witches glances at each other, relaying secret messages to each other before nodding with agreement. Constanze activated her owl as it flapped its mechanical wings and flew to where you were. Not long, the sounds of both you and the flirting girl’s screams rung out. Before Amanda could get to her broom, Yazminka grabbed both of her arms and lifted her up. She immediately kicked her legs, demanding Yazminka to let her go before the heavy-set girl drew her back then tossed her up at the tall patio. Amanda flew in the air before landing directly on top of the girl in a cloud of dust. Feeling foreign hands help her up, she groaned from the sudden toss and the pain she received and accepted the help as she stood up. Just like magic however, all of the vertigo and pain she had soon disappeared when she saw you, eyes blown with concern and worry. “Ah…” You started, cheeks burning up from the closeness of the foreign-born girl. “Amanda, right? Did you um… fall from your broom?” A groan was heard from below as Amanda’s eyes parted from your own to the girl below them. She started to get up but when she saw Amanda, she shrinked back in fear and crawled away fast. “U-Uh…” Amanda stuttered, ignoring what happened before getting her cool back. “No way I could’ve fallen off my broom! That was just a… tactical mistake in landing!” You nodded slowly while you stepped back and Amanda immediately missed the close proximity. “If you’re sure… I was worried a lot when you always do those tricks in the air.” “You saw my–” Amanda squealed before clearing her throat. “You saw my tricks?” You nodded excitingly, eyes shining as you smiled at Amanda. “It’s always so cool-looking! Seeing you perform your stunts and I know I should be amazed but a lot of times you do so many dangerous stunts that I was afraid you were gonna fall!” Amanda didn’t know where to classify her blush; from you or from the sole idea that you watched her perform and was worried about her. She could only listen helplessly to your rambling as she thinks that maybe she might have a chance at you while still saving her pride. Constanze’s owl, that was still perched on the railing beside you two, heard the entire conversation as the speakers that the tiny witch built relayed it all. Both Constanze and Yazminka gave each other a high-five, proud that they’re plan worked for their friend.

Zafiro's reverie

The woman in front of you jumped and turned quickly, you didn’t bother to suppress the smile on your face at her little squeal. You might be furious with her, but you couldn’t help but admit that she was still just as adorable as the last time you saw her.

“Y-Y/N! H-hi” she awkwardly greeted you

You crossed your arms, your smile never fading, and you watched her squirm uncomfortably under your gaze. She didn’t even have to say anything for you to know that she was thinking the same thing as you: I missed you.

You had met Chariot when you were traveling in France, although she was using another name at the time. The details of the beginning of your friendship were fuzzy, probably because it had been in a bar and you had a couple of drinks on you, but the intensity was something that would stick with you until death.

Your dry sense of humor had captivated the other witch, and you couldn’t help but be drawn to the mystery in her eyes, a pair of crimson gems laden with guilt, sadness, and a hint of dull hope. You hadn’t known it at the time, but it was the look of someone who had had everything, lost it, and hurt so many people along the way, including you. You had fallen for her trick like the rest of the world, and although the story was already known everywhere, the truth was that your mind could never get used to the idea that Chariot Du Nord and Ursula Callistis were the same person.

And maybe it was better that way. You had loved Ursula as you had never loved anyone before, her simplicity had amazed you and you would always remember with great affection the afternoons you had spent reading, cooking, or simply cuddling with her, doing everything on your part to make her feel loved, important and safe.

But Chariot…Chariot was a complete stranger to you. You knew her legend, the character who had captivated children and adults alike, but you had no idea who she was, and it hurt to lose the love of your life in such a way.

“Y/N?” she asked carefully

You blinked a bit, coming out of your reverie and feeling how the last ghosts of your smile disappeared completely. You had known that it would be difficult to come to Luna Nova, to see her again, but you had thought that you would be strong enough not to break.

“I’m sorry” you said, looking away.

“N-no, no, it’s alright” she smiled awkwardly.

You sighed, you didn’t even know why you were trying. She had made it clear where she was with you, that she hadn’t loved you as you loved her, that your presence in her life had been a stop on the road and nothing more. And yet, you felt that you at least deserved a proper goodbye.

“You still have that look” you said more to yourself than to her

“The same broken look, guilty but intensely hopeful” you smiled sadly, looking into her eyes again “It was my Ursula’s” you whispered

You could feel the second that she registered the meaning of your words because the air around you changed as if a current of magic passed through you and linked you to her. It didn’t matter if the woman couldn’t fly anymore, you still felt her as intensely as when you first met her.

“Y/N I-” she gasped, clenching her fists against her chest “I’m s-sorry. I-I shouldn’t have left like that, I-I meant to tell you, b-but-”

“It’s okay” you interrupted her “…I’m glad you can at least rest now, that you don’t have to hide anymore, and well, that you’re back to being who you really are…Chariot”

Pronouncing that name left a terrible taste in your mouth and you immediately felt the magic around you turn sour. Seeing the tears pool in those crimson eyes that you loved so much took you by surprise.

“Are you alright?”

“No” she cut you off, raising her voice more than she intended to “Sorry, just…d-don’t call me that”

“It’s your name…your real name”

“It doesn’t feel like that” she admitted “…at least not when you say it”

You stared at her for a few seconds, feeling your blood warm with a mixture of guilt, sadness, and deep down a bit of anger. This woman had given you the whole world only to cruelly take it from you, she had no right to sound so broken and helpless.

“…I knew it was a bad idea to accept teaching here” you sighed “but I can’t back out now, so… lets at least try to be civil”

She looked at you as if you had just slapped her and the tears were already running slowly and silently down her cheeks. You wanted so badly to clean them, caress her cheek, hug her and tell her everything would be okay. But it wasn’t your place anymore and you could barely breathe, much less take care of her.

“Do you really think blue suited me better?” she asked, her voice barely audible

“yes…but that was my Ursula” you smiled sadly “it’s not you, Chariot”

“I can’t call you something else” you cut her off “it’s your name, and even if it hurts both of us, I’m going to have to get used to using it”

“I could go back to blue”

“We both know it’s not about your hair” you said “She’s gone…the idea I had of you, what I thought was real…I fell in love with a person who never existed. Ursula is gone and I…I don’t know who you are, Chariot, but I do know that you’re not the woman I fell in love with”

You could feel the temperature drop suddenly as if all the winter that had settled in your heart since the day she left had finally found its way out and was threatening to engulf the entire world in a new ice age.

She looked at you with an intensity that mirrored your own, and you both knew you were crossing a sacred line, that you were undoing what magic had brought together. But you had no other choice, simply, she was not her, even though she had the same face, the same eyes.

“I’m sorry” you said, brushing past her when your tears began to come “have a nice day, Professor Du Nord”

You walked out of there quickly, heart racing, head spinning, and not the courage to look back. You couldn’t, not when you could perfectly feel the other woman’s heart breaking, and especially not when her voice was Ursula’s.

a/n: you can tell I loved her more as Ursula and it broke my heart to lose her ;-;

Each phase is associated with different energies and has its own significance in Wiccan practices. The new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle and is a time for new beginnings, setting intentions, and planting seeds for future growth. It is a time for introspection and self-reflection, and many Wiccans use this time to meditate, set goals, or perform rituals related to new beginnings and goal setting.

Wiccan moon transitions

As the moon transitions into the waxing crescent phase, the energy begins to build and increase. This phase is associated with growth, creativity, and manifestation. It is a time for taking action towards the goals set during the new moon phase. Wiccans may perform rituals or spells for attracting positivity, abundance, or success during this phase. The first quarter phase is a time of challenges and obstacles. It is a period of testing and learning, where Wiccans are encouraged to face challenges head-on and learn from them. This phase is associated with courage, perseverance, and determination. The waxing gibbous phase is a time of refinement and fine-tuning. It is a period of reflection and adjustment, where Wiccans reassess their goals and make any necessary changes. This phase is also associated with gratitude and counting blessings. The full moon is one of the most important phases in the Wiccan lunar cycle. It is a time of power, heightened energy, and abundance. The full moon is often celebrated with rituals, spells, or gatherings where Wiccans come together to harness the moon's energy for healing, divination, or manifestation. As the moon transitions into the waning gibbous phase, the energy begins to decrease and wane. This phase is associated with releasing negativity, letting go of what no longer serves, and cleansing. Wiccans may perform rituals or spells for banishing negativity or releasing old patterns or beliefs during this phase. The third quarter phase is a time of rest and reflection. It is a period of integration and understanding, where Wiccans take time to reflect on the lessons learned during the lunar cycle. This phase is associated with forgiveness and letting go of grudges or resentments. Finally, the waning crescent phase is a time of surrender and closure. It is a period of completion and tying up loose ends. Wiccans may perform rituals or spells for closure, healing, or releasing attachments. This phase is associated with wisdom, intuition, and spiritual transformation. Overall, the transitions of the moon in Wiccan belief represent a journey of growth, transformation, and connection to the sacred cycles of nature. By aligning with the moon's energies, Wiccans seek to harness its power for personal and spiritual development..

Reviews for "The Power of Intention during Moon Transitions in Wiccan Rituals"

1. Sarah - 1 star - I found "Wiccan Moon Transitions" to be incredibly underwhelming. The storyline was all over the place, with no clear focus or direction. The characters were one-dimensional and lacked depth, making it impossible for me to connect or care about their journey. Additionally, the writing style felt amateurish and disjointed, making it a struggle to get through each chapter. Overall, I would not recommend this book to anyone seeking a well-written and engaging story.
2. Michael - 2 stars - As someone who is new to the genre, I was excited to delve into the world of Wiccan magic. However, "Wiccan Moon Transitions" left me feeling disappointed. The pacing was incredibly slow, with little action or excitement to keep me engaged. The dialogue was also stilted and unnatural, making it difficult to believe in the characters and their interactions. While I appreciate the effort to incorporate Wiccan beliefs and rituals, it felt more like a lecture rather than an integral part of the storyline. Overall, I found this book to be lacking in substance and entertainment value.
3. Emily - 2 stars - "Wiccan Moon Transitions" had so much potential but failed to deliver. The plot was predictable and lacked the depth I was hoping for. The author seemed to rely heavily on cliches and stereotypes, which made the story feel uninspired and unoriginal. The writing style was also repetitive and lacked finesse, leaving me wanting more. While I appreciated the attempt to explore Wicca, it felt superficial and lacked authenticity. Overall, this book left me unfulfilled and I would not recommend it to others interested in the genre.
