Here Are Destiny 2’s Witch Queen Void 3.0 Aspects And Fragments
Yesterday, Bungie dropped a surprise Void 3.0 exploration of the revamped subclass that will arrive with Destiny 2’s Witch Queen expansion. They confirmed that unlike Stasis, almost all of it would be unlocked to play around with right at launch, minus a few fragments that are timegated until after the World’s First raid completion(?).
As such, between this article and some glimpses of Void 3.0 in the recent Vidoc, we now know al the aspects and at least a good amount of the fragments. Okay, not all of those yet, but a lot.
I thought I’d list them all and break them down with some thoughts:
Titan Void 3.0 Aspects:
Controlled Demolition: Hitting a target with a Void ability or volatile detonation will make them volatile.
Bastion: Casting Barricade generates overshield for yourself and nearby allies. Those bunkering behind the shield will regenerate overshield over time and extend the overshield’s duration.
Offensive Bulwark: While you have overshield or are inside the Ward of Dawn, grenades charge significantly faster and you have increased melee damage. You also gain an additional shield throw for your Sentinel Shield Super.

Amy Danise EditorThe keys are shielding, with a bit of void explosive volatility thrown in. Bastion really makes barricade a lot more useful than it was previously, kind of a mini well for your team. If you can string along a constant uptime on overshields, it seems like Offensive Bulwark is going to be very useful for ability recharge.
Hunter Void 3.0 Aspects:
Trapper’s Ambush: Player can activate Quickfall to spend their melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a smoke cloud upon impact. Enemies caught in the cloud are weakened and allies become invisible. In addition, Snare Bombs, upon attaching to surfaces or enemies, cause nearby allies to become invisible.
Vanishing Step: Dodging makes the Hunter invisible.
Stylish Executioner: Defeating a Void-debuffed target (weakened, suppressed, or volatile) grants invisibility and Truesight. While invisible and after a Stylish Execution, your next melee attack weakens enemies.
I find Trapper’s Ambush a little weird. Given that Quickfall spends your melee charge, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t just throw smoke to make yourself or allies invisible and enemies weakened, as it seems like it overlaps quite a bit unless I’m missing something. Stylish Executioner feels like it’s going to be extremely powerful when combined with other void abilities. Vanishing Step is…a Hunter staple that may be hard for many to give up. But now it works for any build, including the Spectral Blades super.
Warlock Void 3.0 Aspects
Chaos Accelerant: Hold down the grenade button to overcharge your Vortex, Axion Bolt, Scatter, and Magnetic grenades. Magnetic grenades overcharge into Handheld Supernova.
Feed the Void: Defeat an enemy with a Void ability to activate devour.
Child of the Old Gods: Cast your Rift to summon a Void Soul. When you damage an enemy with your weapon, your Void Soul will launch itself towards them and detonate nearby, attaching draining tendrils which deal damage and weaken the target. When your Void Soul deals damage, it restores either melee and grenade energy (if running Healing Rift), or health (if running Empowering Rift) back to you. Defeating an enemy who is being drained grants Rift energy.
Two of these are close to identical to current abilities, albeit Chaos Accelerant now works on a lot more grenade types. Child of the Old Gods definitely seems like the most work Bungie has put into any new ability across the board here, and has an absolute ton of utility given that it weakens targets and gives you health or energy. Sounds like a must-have to me.
Fragments – Again, this is not a full list yet, but we do know a whole lot of them:
- Echo of Expulsion: Void ability kills cause enemies to explode; Intellect bonus.
- Echo of Provision: Damaging enemies with grenades grants melee energy; Strength penalty.
- Echo of Domineering: After suppressing a target, gain greatly increased Mobility for a short duration and your equipped weapon is reloaded from reserves; Discipline bonus.
- Echo of Undermining: Void grenades weaken enemies; Discipline penalty.
- Echo of Exchange: Melee final blows grant grenade energy.
- Echo of Remnants: Your lingering grenade effects (Vortex, Void Wall, Void Spike, Axion Bolt) have increased duration.
- Echo of Reprisal: Final blows when surrounded by combatants grant super energy.
So, between all those, you can already start build-crafting in your head a bit. And with more fragments to come (and may more aspects later, like Stasis?) it’s going to be a wild year for void. And uh, solar and arc, once those 3.0 updates come around too.
