Given equal amounts of intelligence and resources, a man or woman with positive self-confidence will almost always accomplish more than someone without self-confidence.
That's a pretty powerful statement when you think about it. If you have a level playing field, with everything else being equal-money, looks, education, opportunities . every disadvantage, disability, fear, race, or gender issue, you name it-the person with a positive state of mind will almost always come out ahead of the competition. The reason is simple:
With self-confidence, your mind will lead you toward realizing your goals. Wherever your mind leads you, your body will follow.
In other words, if your mind believes that success is a done deal, your body-the rest of you-will work to fall in line and fulfill that image. Notice I used the word believe . I didn't say "if your mind thinks " because that's not the same thing. It comes down to the difference between "I think" it's going to happen and "I know " it's going to happen.
