The magic spool cinnamon roll is a delightful and enchanting treat that combines the heavenly taste of cinnamon with the mystifying powers of magic. This delectable pastry is infused with an enchanting spell that enhances its flavor and bewitches anyone who takes a bite. The magic begins with the dough, which is expertly mixed and kneaded to perfection. As the dough rises, it takes on a mesmerizing energy that adds a touch of enchantment to every bite. Carnival Magic

Well, we were supposed to go to Bermuda but a storm created a change. I can't blame Carnival for that. Safety first! The boarding process was terrible and unorganized. We immediately noticed dirty windows on every deck we went. Lots of rust also. The Buffet (more like a cafeteria!) layout is awful causing lines into the hallways. Poorly staffed deli (lunch) and omelet (breakfast) stations creating more lines. The way you check-in for MDR dinner is awful. You MUST check-in thru the ship's app. No walkup to check-in. Two of the hostesses actually took my phone from me and checked me in although they had iPads, or similar in their hands. MDR food was mediocre. Eatable, but nothing to brag about. It took forever and a day to get service at most bars. Almost no drink service in pool areas. At least there is a non-smoking casino area, but you have to walk thru the smoking casino in order to get to the Cashier window. Evening shows were average. Our cabin attendant did a good job keeping things clean. Note: Carnival only does cabins once daily. NO evening touchup. Most MDR staff were friendly and gave good service. It was like spending 4 days in Walmart! If the cost was significantly lower than other cruise lines, I could maybe accept it. It isn't. Spend a very little more and get much better. At least the dock was only 15 minutes from my home! …

I am still on the cruise but felt compelled to write a review due to a fantastic customer service experience we've had here on board. I am traveling with extended family and rooming with my 84-year-old grandfather, who is in poor health with limited mobility. We were staying in an interior cabin on Deck 7 and that night there was an incredibly loud mechanical sound coming from within the walls. I don't believe we got more than 45 minutes of sleep at a time that night. At 3AM I called guest services and Mr. Deb answered. He heard the noise through the phone and came up himself to investigate. He couldn't pinpoint the source of the problem, but put teams on it right away. Unfortunately, they never could find what it was. The next day, he called and said he'd found us a new cabin on our sold-out ship due to a no-show. Unfortunately, when we got to the cabin, it turned out that it wasn't built for my grandfather's limited mobility. Grandpa is old school and wanted to tough it out, but Mr. Deb saw how difficult it was on him and said to wait a few minutes and he'd see what he could do. Next thing we knew, we were in a big ocean view cabin on the 11th deck (another no-show!), rearranged for maximum mobility. We love our new cabin and are so grateful for Mr. Deb's above and beyond customer service. He could have easily told us there was nothing they could do and offered us a couple of shipboard vouchers or something. Frankly that is what I expected. He could also have told us the first new cabin was the best he could do. Instead, he went out of his way to find us not one, but two new cabins, showing the utmost concern for my grandfather's comfort without talking down to him or making him feel like a burden. I went from never wanting to set foot on a Carnival ship again to looking up future cruises. I have no idea if the Magic's management reads this but if so, give Mr. Deb a huge raise! …

First off, the food sucks; think Golden Corral (except the pizza place aft on deck 10; it is the only thing I would really eat) . Second, I ordered the premium internet to get some work done on our trip, but to find out, the wifi signal was weak to non-existent in our stateroom (basically useless). When we called to ask if it could be fixed (took 3 attempts to reach them as they did not pick up the 1st two tries - 20 min wait), they said they would have to reset the system. Well that didn't work. So called again and they said, "our T&C's state that it's not available in all areas." I feel this its unethical as the stateroom is the primary place one would expect to have service. I asked how it could be remedied, and they said they could refund me and cancel the service. That wouldn't work because I needed to get some work done. In this type of situation I would think comping the service would be the proper thing to do, but apparently this is not in Carnival's playbook (I ask to escalate to a manager, and she said she was the supervisor). I'm sitting on the ship right now waiting for the next 3 days to pass to get off this prison. It should be noted, this is not an isolated incident; we had diner at a common table and a real estate agent from Tennessee had the same experience. I would highly recommend this ship if you want to check out and go off-the-grid and like Golden Corral. For me, this is my first and last trip with Carnival. …

Ok so, here goes: The good: Our waitstaff for dinner in the formal restaurant was outstanding! Yudayana, Erich & Ginry were their names and they were consummate professionals, who were also incredibly friendly. A few members of "The Fun Squad" also deserve a shout out: Joe, Jafet ("papi"), Char the Star, Sam, Cruise Director Louis, Wisnu ("whisky") also made our trip that much more fun. The activities onboard the shop were incredibly fun! The games, the competitions. all really helped pass the time. There was a great selection of excursions for whatever you wanted to do (horseback riding, tours) or not do (beach). The Guy Fieri restaurants onboard the ship were hands down the best places to eat. The lines are worth the wait! Of all the nighttime entertainment, the comedians were the absolute best! They had us DYING. Now. some of the not-so-greats: The staff asks that you not reserve beach chairs, but unless you reserve beach chairs, get ready to either stand up or go sit in a regular chair under the shade. We chose a late seating for dinner which allows us more time to enjoy the day, but get ready to make a mad dash to the theater to catch the 9:30 shows, because the late seating dinner ends at . 9:30. As I mentioned, the Guy Fieri restaurants are the best bets for a good lunch BUT be prepared to wait. A lot. One of the most significant negatives for us that really cost Carnival a star is that I called ahead and asked for lactose free options (not vegan, not gluten free, lactose free (I even gave them the example of Lactaid). This was never addressed. Thankfully we bought our own lactose free milk and that's how we were able to enjoy our coffee but my husband was limited in his options as his intolerance is more severe than mine. Carnival rolled out an app that's super helpful in terms of finding what's going on around the ship, what's your running total, what activities you signed up for. but the chat feature (which, if you have kids that can roam around the ship independently is a MUST) was down more often than not. We'd message each other to meet up somewhere, only to have the message come in sometimes up to an hour later. Not great if you're waiting for someone somewhere to go do something or if your teenager is all over the ship and you want peace of mind that you know where she's at. The debarkation process this morning was also a nightmare. 4 elevators were out of service, so you can only imagine the foot traffic with folks and their luggage, folks and their canes, folks in wheelchairs. Luckily, we managed to get off the ship relatively quickly, but only because we planned ahead, woke up early, packed the night before. Again, this wasn't a terrible cruise, but Carnival really needs to pay more attention to these details. I wouldn't say I'd never cruise again with them, but I probably wouldn't go on this particular ship. …

Reviews for "Creating magic in the kitchen: the art of making spiced cinnamon rolls"

1. Jessica - 2 stars - I was really excited to try the Magic spoob cinnamon roll after hearing so many great things about it, but I was extremely disappointed. The roll was dry and lacked the gooey, cinnamon goodness that I was expecting. The icing on top was also tasteless and didn't add any flavor to the roll. Overall, it was a big letdown and I definitely won't be buying it again.
2. Mike - 1 star - I have to say, I was not impressed with the Magic spoob cinnamon roll at all. The roll itself was incredibly dense and almost tasted stale. The cinnamon flavor was overpowering and the texture was just not enjoyable. I also found the icing to be way too sweet and it didn't pair well with the already overwhelming cinnamon taste. I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it to others.
3. Sarah - 3 stars - I have mixed feelings about the Magic spoob cinnamon roll. On one hand, the cinnamon flavor was nice and the roll itself was fairly soft. However, I found it to be overly sweet and the icing was way too thick. It felt like I was eating pure sugar. I also didn't like that the roll was quite small for the price. Overall, it was an average cinnamon roll but not one that I would go out of my way to purchase again.
4. John - 2 stars - The Magic spoob cinnamon roll was a letdown for me. The roll lacked any real flavor and tasted quite bland. The texture was also disappointing - it was on the dry side and didn't have that soft, melt-in-your-mouth quality that I love in a good cinnamon roll. The icing added some sweetness, but it couldn't make up for the overall lack of flavor. Unfortunately, I won't be buying this again.
