She has appeared on the History Channel’s Haunted History of Halloween and The Real Story of Halloween as well as specials on Nickelodeon. Having worked for many years as a freelance writer and journalist, she has contributed to such publications as the Boston Globe and the Christian Science Monitor. She is the author of A Halloween How-To: Costumes, Parties, Decorations, and Destinations; Halloween: An American Holiday, An American History; A Halloween Reader: Poems, Stories, and Plays from Halloween Past; and Witches’ Night Before Halloween. Bannatyne resides in Somerville, Massachusetts, where for two years she held the Guinness World Record for the Largest Halloween Gathering. Additionally, the writing style was very choppy and awkward, making it a struggle to read. Overall, I found this book to be quite disappointing and would not recommend it.
