One of the most haunting and tragic events in American history is undoubtedly the witch trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts in the 17th century. These trials resulted in the execution of many innocent people who were accused of witchcraft. The sheer magnitude of fear, paranoia, and hysteria that swept through the town during this time is difficult to comprehend. However, if given the opportunity, conducting a live performance that delves into the dark and haunting atmosphere of the witch trials could provide a powerful and thought-provoking experience. **The main idea is to recreate the tense and terrifying environment of the witch trials through a live performance.** By bringing to life the stories of the accused and showcasing the destructive power of fear, the audience would be forced to confront the injustices and moral ambiguities that surrounded this dark chapter in history.

Singer Magic Press 4

Another thrift store splurge yesterday was this mini trouser press. It's an older model--I'm not sure how old, but it works and it seems pretty straightforward. I've found new covers and pads on line, but I'm wondering.

Is there any reason I need to pay the Singer Co. $20.00 for a manual for this? Any tips on using it? It's not a steam model, but misting anything I press will certainly "fix" that shortcoming. (I also make paper and I bought it as much to flatten handmade sheets as for pressing garments.)

I am going for a level of perfection that is only mine. Most of the pleasure is in getting that last little piece perfect. Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just keep showing up and doing the work.

hi there,
I don't own one of these but I used to sell them along with sewing machines. it really just like a big iron but of course hotter, so make sure you have the right heat setting and if in doubt use a press cloth, it is best used sitting down or on a high bench, as there is danger of burning your fingers on the heated area as you move the items you are pressing. also make sure don't close it up for storage unless it is absolutely cold and if you do have a mishap while pressing iron cleaner will work well on this.
hope this helps and didn't sound too much like a lesson.

What a coincidence. I'm thinking of getting one of these old Singer Press 4s so I can fuse interfacing to fabrics for jackets and handbags.

Not class-roomy at all, but perfect! Thanks loads!

I DO need to clean it up--I think someone was doing iron-on transfer designs with it (and, not aligning them very well while they were at it, I might add) so, I figured I would need to use that stinky iron cleaning stuff to clean it up.

What happens if you fold it up for storage? I live in a small apartment without a dedicated sewing/work space and it WOULD be stored most of the time, but with the "handle" locked and up,--so it l can carry it & store it like a suitcase- I don't really have room to leave it out anywhere flat.

Singer Steam Irons and Presses

Note: Home Ironing Board Presses have 100 pounds pressure between upper iron plate and lower ironing board. Pressure is less at ends of the boards, depending on press width, fabrics and garments. Clamping mechanisms are in the middle of the press and lose some pressure at the ends You can equalize the pressure using press cloths at one or both ends. We have few complaints in 38 years. It is not a problem on shorter boards like Elna. Miele and Singer rotary presses are best for equal pressure. [email protected], Owner and Tech.
