The Denver Nuggets mascot, Rocky, is known for his impressive array of tricks and stunts during basketball games. He is a fan favorite and adds an element of excitement and entertainment to each game he attends. Rocky's tricks include acrobatics, high-flying dunks, and interacting with the crowd. His agility and skill are evident as he flips and somersaults his way across the court, often dazzling the audience with his moves. Rocky also has a knack for engaging with fans, whether it's through dance-offs, surprise gifts, or playful antics. His energy is contagious, and he never fails to keep the crowd entertained and engaged.

[The Magic School Bus] Arnold’s dislike of the field trips is because he suffered a near-death experience in the pilot episode

Many are likely familiar with what I’m referring to if you saw the show as a kid, but I’ll recap. The Magic School Bus is an educational series about eight students who go on impossible field trips in a supernatural bus with their eccentric teacher Ms. Frizzle. The running joke with Arnold is that he is the only one who sees the potential hazards with things like traveling to the bottom of the ocean or into somebody’s lungs. He’s always making asides about how he wishes he didn’t have to do these ridiculous trips for school and trying to make excuses not to go.

Now watching the pilot episode “Lost in Space” is interesting because these traits of his personality are largely absent. He is actually shown to be extremely defensive of Ms. Frizzle when his cousin insults her while visiting his class, and it is he who willingly instigates the field trip by requesting that they go to outer space to see the Solar System. What’s more the dialogue makes it clear that this is not their first adventure and that these trips have been going on for a while now off-screen.

Now at the end of this episode, Arnold almost dies when he recklessly takes his helmet off on Pluto, freezing him instantly. Lots of people say this scene frightened them when they saw it as kids. While Arnold recovers with no apparent damage, I think this near-death incident gave him PTSD or a related trauma. In every episode after this the boy is constantly on edge and full of dread.

This would not be a viable theory had this episode aired later in the series. The writers likely intended for us to see Arnold’s behavior in this episode here as character growth of sorts with him temporarily getting over his fears, sticking up for his teacher, and putting himself in danger for the sake of the team. But because this is the pilot and thus our introduction to the cast, it comes across that Arnold initially lacked reservations about Ms. Frizzle and her adventures like his friends do, and that because of his near-death experience he now has PTSD because of a very bad field trip.

Paranoid, shy, intelligent (when it comes to rocks and color), a good friend, afraid, timid, brave, loyal, cowardly
