Since 1967, Chip has been representing the university at various sporting events, rallies, and other gatherings. The buffalo, with its immense strength and resilience, perfectly embodies the spirit of CU Boulder. Chip is more than just a mascot; he is a symbol of pride and unity for the university community. Chip's energetic and enthusiastic demeanor fuels the crowd's support and amplifies the atmosphere at sporting events.

The acting was bad. I'm not convinced the actors were failing to meet the director's vision, but instead this was entirely deliberate. When I say bad, I don't mean not good. I mean distracting to the point it's hard to pay attention to anything else.

If The Love Witch simply raised the profile of its director, Anna Biller a true auteur who not only wrote, directed, produced, and edited this film but also designed and hand made its sets and costumes then it would be a success. The Love Witch - What's the Deal with This?

I watched The Love Witch maybe 6 months ago with my mom. Perhaps I should have brought this up when it was fresher in my memory.

This movie seems to get high ratings for a horror/comedy/weird type of movie. High critical rating and strong audience scores depending where one looks. Seems viewed as an important feminist movie in some circles even.

We both.. strongly disliked it.

I get that it's an homage to a type of movie of a specific moment in time. I have to ask, is that fact enough to make a weak movie in many ways so well regarded?

The overall theme and concept were fine, but the plot surrounding it was weak. I even think the overarching theme and purpose were mishandled at the end.

The cinematography was it's only real strength. It wasn't so astounding as to raise the entire film up, but it had its moments.

The dialogue and story beats were awkward. Very awkward. Yet the film leaned on then hard.

Several times we had to stop to ask each other if we should continue watching this thing. We kept going due to the praise. It progressively got worse. Then much worse at towards the finale.

I just don't get it. How does this film get so much praise? Is it so nostalgic as to earn genuine love? Is it pure momentum of one critic following another with the public tailing them? Was it so bad it's good and we simply misread the whole thing tonally? Is it's artsy and feminist nature carrying it's reception? Or is some creative above average cinematography the rallying point?

I don't get it. We don't get it. I can count on one hand the number of times I have wanted to quit a horror related movie mid way. Yet this movie scores very strong for a genre film.

Am I alone in this? If so, what am I missing?

We both.. strongly disliked it.

Reviews for "Chip and the CU Boulder Spirit Squad: A Perfect Duo"

1. Emily - 1/5 stars - I was extremely disappointed with the "Cu boulder buffalo mascot chip". It was nothing like what I expected and did not represent the spirit of the university at all. The chip was poorly made and the design looked more like a random animal than a mascot. It also had a weird taste that was not appealing at all. Overall, I would not recommend this chip to anyone looking for a delicious snack or a representation of their university.
2. John - 2/5 stars - As a proud alumnus of Cu Boulder, I was excited to try the buffalo mascot chip. However, I was left unimpressed and underwhelmed. The chip lacked flavor and the texture was too crunchy. I also felt that the overall design of the chip was not representative of the beloved buffalo mascot. It was a missed opportunity to capture the essence and spirit of the university. I believe there is much room for improvement in this product.
3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I had high expectations for the Cu boulder buffalo mascot chip, but unfortunately, it did not live up to them. Firstly, the chip was too greasy and lacked any real flavor. It left a strange aftertaste in my mouth that was quite unpleasant. Secondly, the design of the buffalo mascot on the chip was not clear or well-defined, making it difficult to even identify what it was supposed to be. Overall, I was not satisfied with this chip and would not purchase it again.
