The Magic Sleepsuit can be worn as long as your baby fits in it or is comfortable wearing it and is back sleeping. You should enjoy the restful nights and naps until your baby is ready to transition out of the Magic Sleepsuit.
When babies start to roll over in the Magic Sleepsuit , this is typically a sign that they are ready for more movement in their sleep, so should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit. The Magic Sleepsuit is specifically designed for back sleeping, so it is not recommended that babies use the Magic Sleepsuit in any other sleep position.
When it is time to transition babies out of the Magic Sleepsuit, the transition typically goes smoothly. The Magic DreamSack and the Magic DreamSack Walker are excellent options for the transition from the Magic Sleepsuit by providing familiar fabrics babies have grown to love.
Can my baby wear the Sleepsuit if they are rolling over?
If your baby has started to roll over in the Magic Sleepsuit while wearing the Magic Sleepsuit, then it is time to transition him or her out of it. This is typically a sign that babies are ready for the next stage of having more freedom of movement in their sleep.
The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the crib. It is not to be used for tummy sleeping.
However, if your little one is rolling over during tummy time, they are still able to use the Magic Sleepsuit. It is only when they are rolling over while wearing the Magic Sleepsuit that it is time to transition them out.
Is the Magic Sleepsuit weighted?
The Magic Sleepsuit is not weighted and does not contain any weighted material. It is made of three layers of fabric only - jersey cotton inner layer, jersey cotton or microfleece outer layer, and a layer of polyfil in between. The layers of fabric provide the cozy contained feeling for babies as they are transitioning from the swaddle.
There is a misconception that our product is weighted due to the wording in our patent. However, per Maureen, who created the Magic Sleepsuit:
"A patent can include multiple possible variants of a product, but that does not necessarily mean that the product that reaches the market contains all those features. When we filed our patent we casted a broad net on possible variations since it was written well before our product reached the market. Our patent includes features that are not included in the Magic Sleepsuit on the market today. Again, there is no weighting or weighted material of any type in the Magic Sleepsuit."
What is the difference between the microfleece and cotton Magic Sleepsuits and Dream Sacks?
By nature of the fabric, microfleece is a bit more cozy and puffy, and cotton is a bit more breathable and flexible. Both versions should be used in rooms at an appropriate temperature for a baby .
We offer both versions of Magic Sleepsuits to give our customers a choice based on their fabric preference. Please keep in mind that the cotton version will be more likely to shrink with laundering if dried in a hot dryer. Please refer to laundering instructions on tag.
The only difference is the outer layer’s fabric—microfleece in one and cotton in the other. Both versions have the same jersey cotton inner layer against the baby's skin while the Magic Sleepsuit has an of polyfil inner layer.

Can I introduce the Magic Sleepsuit before the baby is 3 months old?
The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced when babies are transitioning out of the swaddle and into the crib which is usually around 3 months of age.
The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be used after the swaddle, not with a newborn as a swaddle alternative. At 0-3 months, when babies are typically swaddled, the startle reflex may be too strong to have sustained success with the Magic Sleepsuit.
Proper fit is critical for the safe use and effectiveness of the Magic Sleepsuit.

What should my baby wear under the Magic Sleepsuit?
The Magic Sleepsuit should be used in a room at the AAP recommended temperature for babies, which is on the cooler side.
We recommend a diaper or onesie under the Magic Sleepsuit. We do not recommend any more than one layer of light cotton.
Like with any baby sleep product, it is up to parents to monitor the baby in the Sleepsuit and make sure the baby's room is at the recommended temperature for babies. Please remember that babies' hands and feet can feel cool, so the best way to gauge body temperature is to place your hand on their stomach or back. If they feel hot and sweaty, remove a layer of clothing or remove them from the Sleepsuit.
What is the recommended room temperature for babies?
The baby’s room should be kept at the AAP recommended temperature for babies , which is recommended to be on the cooler side. Of course, every baby is different and some babies may run warmer than others. Like with any baby sleep product, parents should make sure their baby is at a comfortable temperature. Babies' hands and feet can often feel cold. The best way to check their temperature is to feel their chest or back, as hands and feet are usually cooler. A (negative) review of the Magic Sleepsuit
N is a baby that needs to be swaddled, but the kid starting rolling over in his sleep at 10 weeks so we had to stop. After a month of trying to get him used to sleeping without a swaddle, he would still startle himself awake all. the. time. He'd wake up about 4 times every night, not wanting to nurse at all, just needing to be snuggled for a bit so he'd fall back to sleep. (Admittedly, I tried one night to see if he could "fuss it out" but he flailed around for 5 minutes grunting and groaning until I came in there, picked him up, put his pacifier back in and swayed for 30 seconds. then he was back to sleep.)
Anyway, I started reading about the Magic Sleepsuit and kept finding reviews of it being a miracle worker and babies STTN the second it was on (or at the least extending sleep stretches). It seemed to be just what he needed- something to muffle his movements in his sleep so he wouldn't wake himself up.
I tried it for the past 3 nights and each night has been progressively worse. I finally just took it off of him last night at 2am and put him in PJs and he went back to sleep no problem.
With the suit, he was waking every 1-2 hours. It did nothing to muffle or restrict his movements. Maybe my kid is a body builder and freakishly strong, but he could get his hands and feet in his mouth while in the thing! I thought maybe he was waking up because he was hot, but I checked him temp and it was just fine. (I just had him in a diaper and the suit.) I guess he just doesn't like wearing a sumo costume to bed.
