Edgar Allan Poe, the renowned American writer and poet, continues to captivate and inspire readers with his dark and mysterious tales. His works have left a lasting impact on literature and popular culture, and his unique style is often associated with gothic and horror genres. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Edgar Allan Poe has been immortalized in various forms, including mascots. Mascots serve as symbols or representatives of a particular entity, whether it be a sports team, a brand, or even a school. They are designed to embody the values and spirit of their respective organizations and engage with fans or consumers. In the case of Edgar Allan Poe, mascots based on his iconic image and literary themes have emerged as a way to celebrate his legacy and create a connection with his fans.

In the case of Edgar Allan Poe, mascots based on his iconic image and literary themes have emerged as a way to celebrate his legacy and create a connection with his fans. These mascots typically feature elements inspired by Poe's most famous works, such as "The Raven," "The Tell-Tale Heart," and "The Fall of the House of Usher." The raven, in particular, is a popular motif associated with Poe, symbolizing mystery and foreboding.

MISSHA | MAGIC CUSHION COVER LASTING | FIRST IMPRESSIONS | WEAR TEST

I've never tried a cushion foundation. For some reason nobody sells them in the drugstore and the only ones you can get are really expensive. I recently found out about Missha, the korean beauty brand everybody talks about these days. And well. I found myself on Amazon once again.

A recommendation bar actually showed me this foundation and I was quite excited, because it wasn't even that expensive. I decided to give it a shot, because I've heard some good things about Missha cushion foundations.

The Missha Magic Cushion Cover Lasting Foundation is a cushion foundation with SPF 50+. It's supposed to have high coverage, even out the skin, protect it and give you a fresh brightened look. That sounds really nice. According to another retailer it has extracts from many different herbs to hydrate the skin. It's really aimed towards the natural and perfect skin effect.

I'm not sure how many shades there are because I'm having a hard time looking for information about this foundation. But from what I can see, there are 4 shades in total. I have the lightest shade 21. The poor shade range is a thing in korean brands sometimes, so I feel like that's not much of a surprise. The cushion looks pretty dark in the compact, but when you swatch it the color is very different and I think it's gonna be a good match.

I really love the packaging, it's so much my vibe. It comes in a little compact with a mirror, an applicator and the cushion itself. The cushion lid looks like it's sealed in tight, so hopefully it won't dry out too soon. I've never tried a cushion foundation but I've heard, that the applicators that come with them are usually very good for the application. So I think I'll give it a shot. You get 15g of product, but I have no idea how long will it last. And I purchased it for 8.24 Euros. You can purchase it in Czechia as well, but online it's a lot more expensive than on Amazon.

There is also a Moisture version of this foundation which I assume is more dewy. Even though, this one already looks pretty dewy looking at the promo pictures. I couldn't find many tips on applying this product, so I will just treat it as my normal foundation and we'll see how that goes.

I also like that you can purchase the applicator, new foundation cushion or the cushion casing separately. That is such a nice thing considering you can just reuse the one compact you buy. Of course, the price of the extra cushion is lower than price of a new compact.

On the swatch photo, you can see that the finish is very different to all the liquid foundations I took for comparison. It's very skinline and light. The coverage is still very much there, this covered majority of the blue hue of my vains. The undertone looks a little more pink than what I like to go for, but I think I'll make it work.

Wear test

As usual, I went for a wear test with primers I know and use all the time. I will try this foundation for one day and give you as much detail as possible. I applied it with the applicator that comes in the compact and it swiped on really nicely. However, the little puff wasn't capable of applying the foundation to my nose, it was just sliding around, so I took my sponge to go over everything.

As you can see on the half-half photo, the coverage is real on this one. I didn't expect it to have such good coverage. Immidiatelly after you apply it you can see how beautiful the finish is. It looks quite dewy but in a very flattering way and it just makes your skin look so healthy and perfect. On the second photo you can see just the foundation applied all over the face. I think the finish is absolutelly beautiful. If you have dry skin, this foundation would certainly look very nice unpowdered. My face requires a bit more of powder to be honest, so I ended up applying a bit of loose setting powder pretty much everywhere. Before I did that though, I tried a cream bronzer.

Cream applied very well on top of this foundation, it didn't patch up of move around at all. I even feel like the bronzer looks better than usual on this base. I am also very impressed by the shade match, this is pretty much my perfect skin color.

The other base products I applied were powder blush and a cream highlighter and everything looks smooth and blended very easily. I am very impressed with my makeup right now, it looks really nice and super flawless. Let's see how it holds up.

Wear time 10.5 hours

I am pleasantly surprised with this foundation. After 10.5 hours and a tabata workout I didn't expect it to hold up at all. It was buding a little bit between my brows, but I assume that are all my workout facial expressions which caused that. Other than that it didn't separate, my pores still looked pretty blurred and my face looks very smooth. Maybe next time, I would go in with a less drying powder, the Fenty powder is very mattifying and drying. Overall though, I look pretty presentable and on the cheeks and the forehead the foundation looks good as new. It's always the moving parts of the face which break appart, but even those look decent. No product in my smile lines, no product rubbed off my chin. I am happy with that. My face isn't dried out and the foundation still feels very weightless and I would say it would be more hydrating if I didn't set it or set it with a different powder.

Final thoughts

Overall, I am very surprised with this foundation. This was my first time trying out a cushion foundation and I am very pleased with the results. The very strong SPF is always a benefit for me but this one has even more to offer. The texture is very lightweigh and you basically cannot feel it on your face. The coverage is high medium - full, it's very surprising to me, I didn't expect this much coverage. The finish is beautiful healthy leaning dewy and very skinlike. It played well with powders and creams as well and I feel like if you have very dry skin you will absolutelly love this foundation.

For the price, you get a great product that can be applied really fast and really isn't messy at all. It covers, protects, nourishes the skin with some great ingredients and has great lasting power as well. To be honest, one of the most impressive wear tests I've done in last couple days.

Have you tried cushion foundations? Let me know what are your thoughts on them in the comments and thanks for reading!

Apply onto puff and gently dab on your cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin and from inside to outside along the skin texture.

Reviews for "A Ravenous Craze: The Allure of Edgar Allan Poe Mascots"

1. Sarah - 2 stars
I found "Mascots based on Edgar Allan Poe" to be quite disappointing. The concept had so much potential, but I felt that the execution fell short. The mascots were poorly designed and lacked any creativity. They were simply individuals dressed in drab, outdated costumes with no real connection to Poe's work. Additionally, the performances by the mascots were lackluster, as they failed to bring any excitement or intrigue to the character they were portraying. Overall, I was not impressed with this attempt at incorporating literary figures into the world of mascots.
2. John - 1 star
I cannot express how disappointed I was with "Mascots based on Edgar Allan Poe." As a huge fan of Poe's work, I was excited to see how these characters would be brought to life. However, I was sorely let down. The mascots seemed like an afterthought, with poor costume choices and a complete lack of knowledge about Poe's stories and poems. It was as if these mascots were randomly chosen and slapped with a Poe-esque label without any real thought or effort put into their creation. I would not recommend this spectacle to anyone who appreciates Poe's genius.
3. Emily - 2.5 stars
I had high hopes for "Mascots based on Edgar Allan Poe," but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. While the idea of incorporating Poe's characters into mascots seemed intriguing, the execution was subpar. The costumes lacked attention to detail and did not do justice to the iconic images associated with Poe's works. Moreover, the performances by the mascots felt flat and uninspiring. It seemed as though the creators missed the mark in capturing the essence and complexity of Poe's characters. Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied with this attempt to bring Poe's world into the realm of mascots.
