Witchcraft has long been associated with a formidable and mysterious power. Throughout history, witches have been both feared and revered for their abilities to harness the forces of nature, cast spells, and communicate with the spirit world. One of the most notable forms of witchcraft is the art of spellcasting. Witches possess the power to manipulate the energy around them and channel it into specific intentions and desires. Whether they use herbs, crystals, or other tools, witches are able to create and perform spells that affect the physical and spiritual realms. This ability to manifest their intentions makes witches a force to be reckoned with.

Melchizedek is one of the people in Scripture who understand something of God’s work through a chosen line of people from whom the Promised Seed will come – “like Abimelech (21: 22), Rahab (Josh. 2: 11), Ruth (1: 16) or Naaman (2 Kings 5: 15). Similarly, he may be seen as a forerunner of the Magi (Matt. 2: 1-12), centurions (Matt. 8: 5-13; Mark 15: 39; Acts 10), or the Syro-Phoenician woman (Mark 7: 26-30), let alone the multitude of Gentile converts mentioned in Acts. They are those who have discovered that in Abram all the families of the earth find blessing.”[8]

They are often seen as guardians of the environment, as they can communicate with animals, control the weather, and tap into the natural elements.

The play is designed to be easy in every way for a high school to produce and will be under the Creative Commons license. The audience is the parents; the themes I hope will be absorbed by the actors and please the audience. I kept my experience as a parent at the forefront throughout the writing of this play.
With only 43 pages of dialog, I only allude to broad questions such as whether social norms provides a basis for right action. Along the way the actors may see how right action may be less effective than practical action and when a pen might not be mightier than a sword.

We can’t leave this passage without circling back to this mysterious priest-king, Melchizedek. This is the ONLY historical mention in the Old Testament of Melchizedek. So puzzling is this character that ancient Jewish writers believed he was Shem, Abram’s blessed ancestor. Luther took this view as well. According to exact consecutive ages in the Genesis 11 genealogy, Shem would have lived thirty-five years beyond the death of Abram. If Melchizedek was actually Shem, we could better understand his knowledge of the true God. Unfortunately, this view can’t be warranted in the text. Additionally, St Author of Hebrews says that Melchizedek’s ancestors are unknown (Heb. 7:3). This would not be true if he was Shem. “Origen thought that Melchizedek was an angel. Ambrose and some modern commentators suggest that he may have been the Lord Jesus Christ appearing here in a preincarnate form. But in this case, it would be strange that Hebrews calls Jesus “a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek” instead of saying simply that he was Melchizedek.” [14]

Furthermore, witches are said to possess heightened intuition and psychic abilities. They are attuned to the spiritual realm and can perceive energies and entities that are often unseen by others. This intuitive power allows witches to provide guidance, divination, and even healing to those in need. It is this ability to tap into the unseen world that adds to their formidable power. However, it is important to note that witchcraft is not inherently good or evil. Just like any other power, how it is used determines its nature. While some witches use their power for benevolent purposes, others may choose to manipulate and harm others. It is up to the individual witch to decide how to wield their power and whether to use it responsibly. In conclusion, the power of a witch is indeed formidable. From spellcasting and nature manipulation to heightened intuition and psychic abilities, witches possess a unique and potent power that is both awe-inspiring and intimidating. How they choose to use this power ultimately shapes their role in society, whether they are seen as healers, guides, or something altogether more malicious..
