On the Banks of the Ouvèze River III Print
I’d like to invite you to take a walk with me along the banks of the Ouvèze river in spring. The trees are bursting forth with new life in wonderful vibrant greens. On previous days, it has rained and the river is now swollen and full, but on this beautiful evening, limpid and oh so quiet. The setting sun’s light is filtering through the foliage in dapples and sunbursts. The trees stand in blue violet shadows. And, in the dark recesses of the river’s bend, golden beams of sunlight stand out against the darkness. The reflection of undergrowth and trees in the water mingle with the filtered light. The undulating water creates wonderful fractured abstract shapes and then, when the water stills, it reforms a world mirrored. These parts of the river are magical, overgrown and sheltered. The greens, deep and rich. They seem to take us into a void. This sight drew me to make the painting. This Acrylic on canvas is ready to hang. Framing is not required. All my paintings are varnished to add a protective coat against dust. Only the highest quality archival fine art grade acrylic paint is used on the surface gessoed and prepared by myself.
