Wicca and Satanism are two distinct religious ideologies that are often misunderstood and misconstrued. While both fall under the broad umbrella of pagan or alternative faiths, their beliefs and practices differ significantly. Wicca is a modern pagan religion that originated in the mid-20th century. It is centered around reverence for nature and the worship of a goddess and god, often referred to as the Triple Goddess and Horned God. Wiccans celebrate the cycles of the moon and the changing seasons, and they believe in the power of magic and spellcasting. Wiccans follow the Wiccan Rede, which emphasizes the principle of "harm none" and doing positive actions in life.

The upcoming Full Moon can also be called Blood Moon as it coincides with a total lunar eclipse, during which the lunar disk acquires a reddish-orange hue. Wiccans follow the Wiccan Rede, which emphasizes the principle of "harm none" and doing positive actions in life. Rituals and ceremonies in Wicca often involve the use of tools like a wand, athame, and chalice. On the other hand, Satanism is often associated with the worship of Satan or the devil.

Taurus Blood Moon Eclipse Ritual November 2022

Blood Moon Eclipses carry potent energy that can stir the winds of change in our lives. Blood Moon Eclipses are Total Full Moon Eclipses, but they get the name Blood Moon, due to the reddish hue the Moon takes on during the Eclipse.

Total Lunar Eclipses are typically not viewed as power times for Moon magic or lunar rituals. The energy of the Moon is eclipsed, which is why rituals that are geared to work with the Moon may not be as potent. Eclipses, however do carry an intensity to their energy. They tend to bring fated or karmic events that can shift our life path in some way.

If you are feeling these shifts or are in need of support under the November 8 Blood Moon, this ritual is designed to do just that. You can think of it as a self-care ritual that allows you to work in harmony with the Eclipse.

You can also join a live Eclipse Ritual Workshop on November 8 at 10 am PST. More information is here.

Taurus Blood Moon Eclipse Ritual

This ritual can be done anytime between November 2-22, 2022.

You will need:

  • Cleansing tool of choice (herb/wood sticks, bells, oils, etc.)
  • Surrender to Peace Meditation
  • 1 candle (preferably new)
  • Safety pin or something similar to carve into your candle (if your candle is in glass, then get a marker instead)
  • Matches/lighter
  • Blood Moon Eclipse Reading

Directions:

1.) Place the unlit candle in the middle of a table or on your altar. Feel free to decorate the surrounding area with flowers, a special cloth/mat, or your favorite crystals.

2.) Cleanse your aura first, then your surroundings and the candle using your chosen tool. As you cleanse your aura, recite the following-

“Cycles come, and cycles go; it’s time to watch this wheel unfold. I cleanse myself from top to toe, I cleanse myself, so I can grow. I release the energy that holds my heart; I release the energy of the past. I release this energy so I may shine; I release this energy to the Divine. I am cleansed, I am clear. I am cleansed, I am clear. I am cleansed, I am clear.”

As you cleanse your surroundings and the candle, recite the following-

“I release and let go of all that no longer serves me from this space. I release and let go of all stagnant energy that may dwell here and in this candle. I clear and cleanse this space; only love and light live here. My space is cleansed, my space is protected. I am whole. I am protected. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

3.) Now, pick up your unlit candle and, holding it in your hands, say the following or feel free to recite what you feel in the moment-

“I honor the changes of the season. I ask my higher self to lead me to my highest path, so I may rise. I rise up now to all that I have become. I rise up now as strong as the Sun. I ask for guidance, I ask for peace, I ask for this next chapter to bring me release. I ask for love, I ask for abundance, I ask for purpose, and the courage to follow my heart; to always be guided even when in the dark. I ask for health, I ask for joy, I ask for all to be well. Body, mind, and soul hear my calls. My wish is now fulfilled. All is well. All is well.”

4.) Now take your unlit candle and the safety pin and begin by carving your first name in the middle of it. Then around your name, carve what you wish to feel (Eg. supported, loved, joyful, etc.) or messages from your higher self. You can draw, write words, or use symbols. There is no right or wrong, just trust your intuition and carve what comes through.

f your candle is in a glass jar, you can use a marker to decorate the glass instead.

5.) Take a minute to look at your decorated candle. Notice any themes or patterns that have come up for you. Notice what shapes and words you chose to include. Just observe any thoughts or feelings that arise.

6.) Now take your candle and light it. Begin watching the flame for a moment, allowing yourself to get into a meditative state. Trust that as your candle burns, it is burning away all that blocks you from feeling how you wish to feel. Trust that as your candle burns, it is activating hope, love, and support from deep within your being.

7.) Get nice and comfortable and begin with your Surrender to Peace guided meditation. Try to be near your candle if possible.

8.) After your meditation, place your hands on your heart and say – “I love you” to yourself. Give yourself a big warm hug and take a moment to thank yourself for all your hard work and efforts over the year.

9.) Now do your Blood Moon Eclipse Lunar Reading. Allow the words from the special message you receive to flow wherever it needs to go.

Allow your candle to burn until it is completely gone. You can always snuff it out and relight it if you can’t attend to it. Don’t worry if it takes you several days to burn through your candle.

Follow this ritual with a glass of water or cup of herbal tea. Spend the rest of the day/evening doing something relaxing.

However, this is a misconception derived from Christian beliefs. The primary form of Satanism, known as LaVeyan Satanism, was founded by Anton LaVey in the 1960s and does not involve the literal worship of a supernatural being. LaVeyan Satanism is atheistic and humanistic, focusing on self-empowerment, individualism, and indulgence rather than moral rules or ethics. LaVeyan Satanists advocate for personal freedom and embracing one's carnal desires, often using Satanic imagery and symbols as tools for self-exploration. While both Wicca and Satanism are often considered alternative or countercultural belief systems, they have distinct differences in their ideologies and practices. Wicca emphasizes harmony with nature, reverence for a goddess and god, and the use of magic for positive purposes. Satanism, particularly LaVeyan Satanism, rejects supernatural beliefs and centers on individualism, self-empowerment, and the indulgence of personal desires. It is important to approach these religious ideologies with an open mind and an understanding that they may not align with mainstream religious beliefs. Misunderstandings and misconceptions about these faiths can be harmful and perpetuate stereotypes. By educating ourselves and engaging in respectful dialogue, we can foster a more inclusive and accepting society..
