This leaf wand has a red oak handle and green poplar leaf top and will hold up well to years of imaginative play. The colors you see are natural, we use no stains or dyes on any of our products. The edges are rounded over and everything is sanded smooth. This wand is finished with a natural beeswax polish we make ourselves. All of the materials we use are non-toxic. And fun! The wood the leaf is made from is green poplar (green referring to the coloring, not the seasoning of the wood). And just like real leaves, this wand will turn brown over time. Exposed to sunlight, the green poplar will turn into hues of brown (talk about magic!). The tonal variation will remain though. The leaf is about 3-1/2 inches tall, overall the wand is about 12 inches long. The picture is representative - every wand is unique, so yours will vary slightly.
