Magix has been an awesome app. I had someone on interwebs suggest that I reimport the file as it relates to cache-reference confusion. I just tried that and it worked. I hope to step up to a more robust version of Magix software soon.
And when you say that any attempt to slow a clip down results in stuttering could well be caused by the fact that the footage is Variable frame rate , something which is typical of a lot of mobile phone footage. The correct orientation for taking video on a mobile for editing is Landscape - on most mobiles the correct landscape orientation is with the bottom of the phone in your right hand - this avoids the majority of the rotation issues.

Magix is glitching
Magically video clips are being flipped upside down and any attempt to slow a clip down results is stuttering of the footage. Nothing is being selected to flip the footage upside down. It is just happening randomly. I flip it back to correct position but that is when the skipping occurs. The skipping is not only in playback but also in the export product. This is happening as my renewal is up. I tend to have MAJOR issues every time the app is set to expire.
