Tarte Make Magic Happen Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

The new, limited edition Tarte Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette ($32) is a new Summer 2017 launch. I know, we’ve been a little burned with Tarte lately but they are slowly redeeming themselves in my eyes as the Clay Play Face Shaping Palette has actually become a stable product for me and I’ve been using it daily since purchasing it.

The Make Magic Happen Eyeshadow Palette caught my eye because it appeared to have some sort of new eyeshadow formulation and on some level it is a different formula for Tarte.

Let’s take a look at my review and swatches below.

I gotta admit this one impressed me a lot and I think I’ll make a lot of use out of this palette but it isn’t for everyone but I’ll get into that more in a bit.

The first thing that surprised me was the size. This is pretty small! I’m not sure what I expected but I was thinking CD case size at the very least but it is considerably smaller and the size of the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette that I reviewed several months ago. None the less it still packs in nine shades that are 0.045 oz each. It’s not a lot of product but they aren’t charging you a crazy amount for it either. My shock at the size was quickly replaced and I was actually quite happy to have such a portable, travel friendly, and easy to store palette that was sized just right not to mention they even squeezed a very generously sized mirror inside. If you travel a lot it’s really perfect for just that. I was impressed that the wells of each shadow were also very generously sized and I didn’t struggle dipping a brush into them.

I can’t say that I down own all of these shades already because I’d be a liar. A lot of these shades can be found across my collection of palettes from both Tarte and other brands quite easily but I still do not regret the purchase. These are such a delightful formula and seemed considerably more finely milled than any other Tarte eyeshadow I’ve tried in the past. They are incredibly soft, super silky, and they blend very easily. If you have aging eyes like my own you’ll appreciate the beautiful texture. They do run sheerer though which might disappoint people who want a bold and vibrant selection of eyeshadows. Personally, I didn’t mind the sheerness in the least. They built easily, they were noticeable, but they never overpowered my eyes but they did accent them beautifully. Some of these shades are Believe a soft taupe-y greige, Twinkle Twinkle a delicate buttery gold, and Impress a light tan beige. If you’re looking to go nude with your eyes these shades will help you to do so easily. Another shade that stood out was Miracles a very beautiful plum that was easy to wear all over my lid without looking like I was punched.

I did find one slight issue with the palette! The names of the eyeshadows are listed on Tarte’s website however, no where on the packaging are they listed anywhere. I guess it’s not too big a deal but I would have liked it printed somewhere on the outer packaging or on the back of the compact at least.

I can’t rave this one enough! The Tarte Make Magic Happen Eyeshadow Palette will likely be a hit with minimal makeup users as it contains soft, beautiful colors that accent eyes to create gorgeous looks. I don’t know what Tarte did here with the formula but I am incredibly pressed with the soft, silkiness of these eyeshadows. For those interested the palette is Made in Italy.

I’m Muse Approving this one.

Once your tart shell is ready, let it cool completely. While your tart shell cools down, it's time to prepare the magical filling. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Slowly add in the sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until well combined. The secret to making the filling magically delicious is to add a pinch of love and a touch of imagination. Once your filling is ready, spread it evenly onto the cooled tart shell. Carefully arrange the fresh fruits on top, letting your creativity come to life. Whether you choose to create a colorful pattern or mix and match different fruits, the result will be a visually stunning masterpiece. Before serving, dust the top of the tart with a generous sprinkle of powdered sugar. This adds a touch of elegance and magic to the overall presentation. Now it's time to let the tart chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld together. When the moment arrives to unveil your creation, prepare to witness the magic happening right before your eyes. The sweet aroma will fill the air, and the vibrant colors will captivate everyone's attention. As your guests take their first bite, the combination of the buttery tart shell, the creamy filling, and the juicy fruits will create a symphony of flavors that will transport them to a realm of pure bliss. Reviews for "Experimenting with Enchanting Combinations: Making Magic Happen with Tart Flavors"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the "Make magic happen" tart from Tarte. First of all, the packaging was so fancy and cute, which got me really excited. However, when I actually used the product, I found that the pigmentation was very weak. I had to apply multiple layers just to get a decent color payoff, and even then, it was still very sheer. The shades also didn't blend very well, making it difficult to create a seamless look. Overall, I expected more from this product and found it to be a waste of money.
2. Alex - 3 stars - The "Make magic happen" tart from Tarte didn't really live up to the hype for me. While the shades in the palette looked beautiful, I found that the formula was quite powdery and had a lot of fallout. This made it difficult to apply the eyeshadow without getting fallout all over my face. The shimmer shades also lacked intensity and didn't give me the desired sparkle I was looking for. While the matte shades were decent, I don't think they were enough to redeem the overall quality of the palette.
3. Emily - 2 stars - I was really excited to try the "Make magic happen" tart from Tarte, but unfortunately, it didn't work out for me. The shades in the palette looked stunning, but they lacked pigmentation and didn't show up well on my skin tone. I tried using a primer and even wetting my brush to intensify the colors, but it didn't help much. The shades also didn't blend easily and looked patchy on the eyelids. Overall, I found the quality of this palette to be subpar and wouldn't recommend it to others.
