It’s been a “thing” for years and now Mount Dora is finally joining the party.

Authentic boba tea, also called "black pearl tea" or "bubble tea," will be making its debut downtown in March with the opening of Magic Tea Market. Boba tea, originally created in Taiwan in the mid-1980s, is a sweet, frothy, cold drink made with tea, sweetened milk and “pearls” made from ingredients like tapioca and fruit jelly. Contrary to the name, there are actually no bubbles in the popular beverage.

Some teas are designed to be consumed hot, while others are best enjoyed iced or cold-brewed. Some teas are also infused with fruits, flowers, or other natural flavors to enhance their taste and appeal. One of the key selling points of magic teas is their perceived ability to support overall health and well-being. Many teas are marketed as having specific benefits, such as promoting weight loss, boosting energy levels, improving sleep quality, or reducing stress and anxiety. These claims are often based on traditional herbal medicine practices and anecdotal evidence, rather than scientific research. The magic tea market is not limited to traditional retail stores. Many online platforms and specialty shops offer a wide selection of magic teas, allowing consumers to explore and experiment with different blends and flavors. Some companies also offer subscription services, where customers can receive a monthly box of curated teas delivered to their doorstep. Despite the growing popularity of magic teas, it is important to approach these products with caution and do thorough research before incorporating them into your wellness routine. While many herbal teas have been consumed for centuries without adverse effects, it is essential to check for any potential allergens or interactions with medications before consuming magic teas. Reviews for "Reading the Leaves: Divination and Magic Tea"

- John - 1 star - I was really disappointed with Magic Tea Market. The tea selection was very limited and they didn't have any of the popular flavors I was looking for. The prices were also quite high compared to other tea shops I've been to. The staff seemed disinterested and not very knowledgeable about the products. Overall, it was a lackluster experience and I wouldn't recommend it to tea enthusiasts.
- Sarah - 2 stars - I had high hopes for Magic Tea Market, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The tea I ordered tasted stale and lacked the freshness I was looking for. The packaging was also poorly done, as the tea bags were torn and some of them even leaked. The customer service was average at best, as the employees didn't seem to care about my concerns. I won't be going back to Magic Tea Market anytime soon.
- Robert - 2 stars - Magic Tea Market was a letdown for me. The tea I purchased had a very weak flavor and I had to use double the amount of tea leaves to make it taste decent. The store itself was disorganized and messy, with tea boxes haphazardly stacked. The website also didn't provide much information about the teas and their origins. I expected a better quality and selection from a specialty tea shop. Unfortunately, Magic Tea Market fell short.
