The Ivory Rune Set in Popular Culture: Influence and Symbolism in Movies and Literature

By admin

The ivory rune set is a collection of ancient symbols carved into pieces of ivory. These symbols, known as runes, were used by ancient Germanic and Nordic peoples for divination, communication, and magical purposes. Each rune has its own meaning and is believed to hold its own unique energy. The ivory rune set typically contains 24 runes, each with its own distinctive shape and design. These runes can be drawn from a bag or cast onto a surface to provide insight and guidance. They are often used in conjunction with other divination tools, such as tarot cards or crystals, to enhance the reading and provide a more comprehensive understanding.

The origins of the ivory rune set can be traced back to early Germanic tribes, who used these symbols as a form of written language. Over time, the runes became associated with mystical and magical powers, and their use expanded to include divination and spellcasting.

Runic Ivory

Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm says 'What brings you to these forsaken peaks? My people are fighting a losing battle against the shades of our own fallen kin. We lack even the [supplies] and [new weapons] to stage a proper defense.'

You say, 'Supplies?'

Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm says, 'We draw most of our resources from the surrounding glaciers. Any of you can gather would be much appreciated.'

You have been assigned the task 'Runic Ivory'

Thentil Strongarm has a large order of spears to fill. Unfortunately, he is low on Mammoth tusks used to create the special spearheads used by the Wraithguard. He will need a new supply of Icefall Mammoth Ivory if he is to be able to complete the order.

If all that's required in a task is "Deliver. " then yes, the items involved should be pre-lootable. It's been quite a long time since this quest has been entered/updated, and there has never been mention of a lockout timer (which would obviously affect mass turn-ins, if there is one), so you would be well off to try it after collecting eight of them instead of. 800 of them.

Preloot worked fine, no lockout timer(from handing in 2 sets, anyway.) For those interested in the numbers:
+50 Wraithguard Leadership
+60 Wraithguard

Factioning # Aug 10 2007 at 2:19 PM Rating: Decent 86 posts

Currently doing this quest over and over again with my lvl 72 druid to try and reach kindly faction to do the Staff of Frozen Flame quest.

Rather easy for a 71+ druid to solo.

Snare 2 mammoths, cast glamour of tunare on them (seems to prolong charm) charm one, have it attack the other. haste the pet (savage spirit). continue charming ur pet as charm breaks until ur pet is at 5% or lower. can break charm with innate camo. from here 2 nukes should kill ur pet or u can dot if u wish. The other mob should be around 50% give or take 10% or so.

From here snare another mammoth to use as ur pet, repeat method above. at the end, both mammoths should be pretty low health and u can finish both via nukes/dots.

One important note is that ur pet's damage is mitigated by what seems like 50%.

Also, dont bother healing ur pet :)

Have fun with this!

Getting Past amaible ? # May 27 2007 at 9:47 PM Rating: Decent 2 posts

I was able to get to amiable easy. However I have turned in at least 20 more tusks and I am still amiable. Is it broken or are the faction levels now just harder to get through ? I have not done all of the tasks in the set. still missing shades bane. since it looks like a PITA I would rather not do it.. anyone know if its required to do the set in order to progress with faction past amiable ?

Getting Past amaible ? # Jul 04 2007 at 10:47 PM Rating: Decent Scholar 1,352 posts

amiable is the biggest faction level youll face is why it seems like it's not working, but it is

-100 to -1 . looks your way apprehensively (100)

0 to 99 . regards you indifferently (100)

100 to 499 . judges you amiably (400)
500 to 749 . kindly considers you (250)
750 to 1099 . looks upon you warmly (350)
1100 to ~2000 . Ally faction

TO GO FROM APP TO ALLY = 1200 FAC POINTS

im not sure how many pts this quest is worth, but i know construction of shadows was 50.

Getting Past amaible ? # Jan 19 2009 at 1:57 PM Rating: Decent Scholar 1,273 posts

From the first moment i hit kindly it took 5 further tasks to hit warmly. This supports your faction table and task faction given that kindly is 250 faciton hits, and 5 of these tasks at 50 each would match the 250.

Apprehensive to Amiable # May 18 2007 at 6:20 PM Rating: Decent Sage 2,993 posts

Doing this quest 7 times got my wizard from Apprehensive to Amiable with Wraithguard. Which works pretty nice since I got the tusks in the course of camping Taruskor for boot armor drops. You can get the tusks first, pile them up and then do the quests so it's an easy relatively painless way to build up this faction.

Did they change how much faction this adds? Have done this quest 6 times..still at dubious, was told I only needed 3 times to go up a faction by countless people.

You can do this as many time as you want now. I have not done the 4 "Character Flag" quests. as of the new patch. you can continue to do them over and over. I did these at least 20 times so far to get ally.

Runic Ivory # Mar 28 2007 at 7:20 AM Rating: Decent 11 posts

The way to get this more then once is to do all 4 task in the set for a "character flag"

Armor Supplies, Runic Ivory, Construction of Shadows and Runded Diamond. then you can repeat this. turned in over 60 tusk and with bracers done 8 times I am ally.

repeatable # Mar 12 2007 at 9:01 PM Rating: Decent 5 posts

I was able to get this three times with dubious faction handed in 12 tusks and 8 pelts, still con at dubious as well. Not sure what to tell you

Repeatable # Jan 22 2007 at 2:46 PM Rating: Decent 106 posts

I have done this quest one time so far and Thentil will not give me this quest again. When I say "supplies" all he says is "Sorry ________, I dont have anything for someone with your abilities". If this is repeatable then why cant I get the task again? Any help would be appreciated =).

At first I thought it wasn't repeatable, but when you ask for the quest again, you find it is repeatable. Hope this helps! :)

Wrong text for this quest.

for this quest, you say "supplies" not "new weapons"

"supplies" works at dubious, the weapons quest won't

THe last paragraph is the task description.

You can hand the Icefall Ivory Tusk one at a time, and you can also hand in ones you looted before you got the task.

Also confirmign that I received this task at dubious, but "new weapons" got me

Ivory rune set

The use of ivory as a material for the runes is believed to add a sacred and powerful element to the set. The ivory rune set can be used for a variety of purposes, including gaining insight into current situations, predicting future outcomes, and exploring one's own spiritual journey. Each rune carries its own meaning and can be interpreted in different ways depending on the context of the reading and the individual's intuition. In modern times, the ivory rune set has gained popularity among practitioners of divination and those interested in ancient mystical traditions. However, due to concerns over the ethical sourcing and use of ivory, many modern rune sets are made from alternative materials, such as wood or stone. These alternative materials still carry the energy and symbolism of the runes, while also promoting sustainability and ethical practices. Overall, the ivory rune set is a powerful tool for divination and self-exploration. Whether made from ivory or alternative materials, these ancient symbols continue to hold sway and provide guidance to those who seek their wisdom..

Reviews for "The Ivory Rune Set as a Tool for Protection and Warding"

1. Sarah - 2 out of 5 stars - I was really disappointed with the Ivory rune set. The quality of the runes was below average and some of them were even chipped. The symbols on the runes were also poorly engraved, making them difficult to read. Furthermore, the bag that came with the set was cheaply made and looked like it would fall apart after a few uses. Overall, I expected a much better product for the price I paid. I would not recommend this rune set to anyone looking for quality and durability.
2. Mark - 1 out of 5 stars - I have been practicing rune readings for a while now, and I have to say that the Ivory rune set was a major disappointment. The runes were unevenly shaped and poorly finished. The material used did not feel like real ivory, and the runes had a strange odor to them. I was also unimpressed with the accompanying guidebook, as it lacked depth and meaningful interpretations of the runes. Save your money and invest in a better quality rune set.
3. Jessica - 2 out of 5 stars - The Ivory rune set did not meet my expectations at all. The runes felt lightweight and fragile, and I worry they will break easily with regular use. The symbols on the runes were not clear or well-defined, making it difficult to accurately interpret them during readings. The bag the runes came in was also poorly made and did not provide proper protection. I would suggest looking for a different rune set if you are serious about divination and want a reliable and high-quality product.
