Wild Magic is a fantasy novel written by Tamora Pierce. It is the first book in the Immortals quartet series. The story follows the journey of Veralidaine "Daine" Sarrasri, a young girl with the ability to communicate with animals. Daine starts off as an orphan in the kingdom of Galla. After the death of her mother, she takes up a job as a horsemaster's assistant. It is during this time that she discovers her wild magic powers.
It is during this time that she discovers her wild magic powers. Daine can speak and understand animal languages, as well as communicate with them telepathically. Daine's wild magic attracts the attention of the mage Numair Salmalín, who becomes her mentor and teacher.

I was really excited to read "Wild Magic" by Tamora Pierce, but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The main character, Daine, seemed inconsistent and lacked depth. Overall, I was disappointed by "Wild Magic" and it didn't live up to the hype for me.
