Witches have a long and storied history throughout human civilization. From ancient times to the present day, the concept of a witch has captured the imagination and fear of people across cultures. In ancient societies, witches were often associated with magic and the supernatural. Famous witch figures from this time include the sorceress Circe from Greek mythology and the enchantress Medea. These early depictions painted witches as powerful and dangerous beings, capable of performing incredible feats or causing harm. Like him, Dusel s comrades wore white plate armor with golden gilding, the various pieces arrayed with diamond-shaped plates that shielded the more vital areas.

During the Middle Ages, however, the perception of witches took a darker turn. In Europe, a widespread belief in witchcraft led to the infamous witch hunts and trials. Women, in particular, were targeted and accused of entering into pacts with the Devil, hexing their neighbors, or causing various misfortunes.
