Fortifying the idea that it's the Mistwood, aside from its size and relative ease of access from Liurnia is the fact that the Siofra River and Nokron are right below, and this area ends up being where Ranni sends us after the star lands. If the snow crone resided in and below the Mistwood, it would make sense that she would have imparted onto Ranni knowledge of the treasures of the city.
