Magic Stick

The Magic Stick got its start in the early 90’s when the Majestic’s owners removed eight bowling lanes from the second floor alley, replacing them with ten pool tables and a dance floor. The concept quickly caught on as the basement motif provided an ideal backdrop for the burgeoning garage, alt rock and electronic scenes in Detroit. Later, the remaining four upstairs lanes were removed and the dance floor was expanded to complete the construction of what would become one of city’s legendary rock rooms.

Reviews for "The Evolution of the Magic Stick Detroit: From Humble Beginnings to Cultural Institution"

1. John - 2 stars - The Magic Stick Detroit was a major letdown for me. I was expecting a fun and lively atmosphere, but instead, it was overcrowded and the music was way too loud for my taste. The staff seemed overwhelmed and rude, and the drink prices were ridiculously high. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I had such high hopes for The Magic Stick Detroit, but it completely fell short of my expectations. The venue was dirty, and the bathrooms were in terrible condition. The sound quality was poor, making it hard to enjoy the live performances. Not to mention, the drink selection was limited and overpriced. It was a waste of money and I won't be going back there again.
3. Mark - 2 stars - I was excited to check out The Magic Stick Detroit, but unfortunately, it left me unimpressed. The bar was understaffed, resulting in long waits for drinks. The crowd was rowdy and obnoxious, which took away from the overall experience. Additionally, the general ambiance lacked any kind of charm or character. It's a shame because I had high hopes, but I won't be returning anytime soon.
4. Emily - 1 star - The Magic Stick Detroit was a complete disappointment. The live music was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation with anyone. The venue itself felt cramped and uncomfortable. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a enjoyable night out.
