Dear students, We are excited to announce that we will be holding a rune casting course starting next month. This course is designed for those who are interested in learning more about the ancient practice of rune casting. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to explore the history and origins of runes, as well as their significance in various cultures. You will also learn about the different types of runes and their meanings. The practical aspect of the course will focus on teaching you how to cast and interpret runes. You will learn the different techniques and methods used in rune casting, as well as how to interpret the symbols and messages that they reveal.
Legend has it that Odin, the Norse High God of the Aesir, hung from the world tree (Yggdrasil), impaled on his own spear for nine days and nights in order to gain the knowledge of runes. When the runes appeared below him, he reached down and picked them up, and the runic knowledge gave him power. He later passed on this knowledge to the Vanir goddess Freya. She in turn taught him the magic of Seidr. Heimdall the god who guarded the Rainbow Bridge taught the Runes to mankind.
Much like with a Tarot reading, we don t believe that the future is written in stone, rather that we as individuals have the power to follow our own path and make our own decisions. There are several different types of runic alphabets but in this video course we will explore the Old Germanic runic alphabet known as the Elder Futhark , sometimes called Viking Runes or Norse Runes.
You will learn the different techniques and methods used in rune casting, as well as how to interpret the symbols and messages that they reveal. The course will be taught by experienced rune casters who have a deep understanding of the subject. They will guide you through the course, providing you with valuable insights and supporting you in your learning journey.

Welcome! My name is Professor Swithun, and I am your new professor of Divination here at Hogwarts is Here. Professor Cattercorn formerly led this course; therefore, you will find references to her in Years Two through Five. You may notice some minor edits here and there, but rest assured that you will not be held responsible for any of these small changes on your assignments and exams. I will strive to keep this transition as cohesive as possible. I have exciting plans for Years Six and Seven! I’m working hard to have Year Six prepared and published as soon as possible.
