I am very disappointed by Sony on the fact that since Jun 2022 there has been no security updates since 1 Jun 2022, and of course no major system version upgrades after android 12.

I am very disappointed by Sony on the fact that since Jun 2022 there has been no security updates since 1 Jun 2022, and of course no major system version upgrades after android 12. Now after using it for better part of almost 3 years, and having not enough battery life, sometimes heating when doing any camera related thing more than 5 mins, or 4k video recording, or playback , or extensive tasks, like video call screenshare, the battery dies pretty quick, and throttling sometimes ends up clogging the processing coincidentally on the most needed times , i kind of think it is time for an upgrade.

Phone Upgrade discussion

TLDR: originally had Xperia 1 ii for a few years, want a budget friendly (and OS upgrade for longer) option from these phones.

I am using an Xperia 1 mark ii since it came out. And looking for an upgrade because there are days when i have to charge the phone twice or more than that during the day. I live in the EU, but originally ordered this phone from HK because dual sim version was not available in my country for the 1 (there was availability of 5 ii but i was notI interested in that at that time).

Now after using it for better part of almost 3 years, and having not enough battery life, sometimes heating (when doing any camera related thing more than 5 mins, or 4k video recording, or playback), or extensive tasks, like video call + screenshare, the battery dies pretty quick, and throttling sometimes ends up clogging the processing (coincidentally on the most needed times), i kind of think it is time for an upgrade. I've got a 256GB version (which is almost full + a 400 GB fast sd card for media).

Hence i came up with the below options. However headphone jack, is something i like to have (so when i am tired of WFXM5, i listen with Etymotic 4XR for that extra clarity and harmen curve. ). I could live without it, but would have to deal with dongle life.

Although after using this phone for so long , I am thinking about "should i switch to a smaller sized phone" but am undecided on that front. I do like gaming, and having a powerhouse of a phone is something i really like.

So looking at processing power, OS updates, and price ratio: i have added pixel in the mix, because it gets the most updates, and also when looking for maus case mount for bike or dbrand skin etc. most companies cater to samsungs, pixels, apples of the world. although it pains me, i cant do anything about it.

Currently Xperia 1 V is 1350-1399 (which is laptop money), i can not bring myself to spend that much especially these days when inflation is crazy and money is but tight. Originally i had found a good deal on the xperia 1ii that i am using so i had not paid the 1199/1200 but had originally paid 800 ish. I do not think i am going to find any deals like that soon for 1V.

Any ideas, thoughts, and opinions are welcome. I am kind of leaning towards the Xperia, Redmagic and Zenfone due to size, price, processing power, and OS updates. i.e. price+OS on pixel, price and performance on redmagic, and price/processing power/size on the zenfone.

Reviews for "Enhanced Display: Red Magic 7s Pro Upgrades for an Immersive Gaming Experience"

1. John - 2/5 stars - I recently upgraded to the Red Magic 7s Pro and I have to say, I'm not impressed. The phone feels bulky and heavy in my hand, making it uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. Additionally, the battery life is abysmal. I constantly find myself needing to charge my phone throughout the day, which is extremely inconvenient. Overall, I regret purchasing this upgrade and wish I had stuck with my previous phone.
2. Emily - 1/5 stars - The Red Magic 7s Pro upgrades were a huge disappointment for me. The camera quality is terrible, with pixelated and blurry images. The phone also tends to heat up quickly, making it uncomfortable to use for extended periods. The user interface is clunky and confusing, with frequent lag and crashes. I would not recommend this upgrade to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality smartphone experience.
3. Mike - 3/5 stars - I had high expectations for the Red Magic 7s Pro upgrades, but unfortunately, they fell short. The phone's performance is mediocre at best, with frequent freezes and slow response times. The speakers also lack clarity and volume, making it difficult to enjoy media on the device. On the positive side, the display quality is decent and the design is sleek. However, for the price, I expected a lot more from this upgrade.
