The Witch Factor: Uncovering the Truth Behind the Witch of Sloth in Re:Zero

By admin

The Witch of Sloth is a character from the Japanese light novel and anime series Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World. Re:Zero is a fantasy story that revolves around a young man named Subaru Natsuki who is transported to a parallel world where he discovers he has the power to return to a specific point in time upon his death. Throughout his journey, Subaru encounters various witches, each representing one of the deadly sins. The Witch of Sloth, also known as Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti, is one of the seven witches in the series. Her appearance is that of a pale woman with long silver hair and purple eyes. She is often seen wearing a black dress and a horned headpiece.

Because of her lackadaisical attitude Sekhmet's face was said to look debilitated and apathetic. Her face was beautiful yet unhealthy looking due to its paleness. Her unkempt magenta hair was absurdly long, reaching down to her feet. Physically speaking, Sekhmet was the most mature of the Witches of Sin. She wore a sultry dress that complemented her physique perfectly.

Authority of Gluttony Authority of Wrath Authority of Lust Authority of Envy Authority of Pride Authority of Vainglory Authority of Melancholy Those are the powers Jaune Possesses. She made her way back to her original clan and proceeded to kill everyone, feeling hatred and desire for revenge though not understanding the emotion at the time.

Power: Authority Of Sins.

During his Time at The Atlasian Prison Jaune had a Landscape manifestation in his Dream. There he met The witches Who Felt Sad For Him even The Demon Of Melancholy And The Witch Of Vainglory.
So they all gave him a part of Of their Witch Factor.
To their Surprise and Amazement Jaune was Compatible with all of their Factors thus making him The First ever Archbishop Of All the Sins.

Authority of Sloth: Sloth (怠惰 Taida) (Used by Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti)

The user can let out a black wave toward their surroundings, corrupting the minds of those who have no knowledge of Spirit Magic. Those affected experience hallucinations, auditory hallucinations, and severe pain, then expose the whites of their eyes, foam at the mouth, and are nearly driven mad. This ability is only present in the Web Novel of Arc 3.

Sekhmet's Authority of Sloth (A/n: Is it bad that I found her Kinda Hot?)

Sekhmet using her Authority of Sloth to stop Minerva
Sekhmet is seen manipulating an invisible force that allows her to hit and crush things without moving a muscle. This ability somewhat resembles an extremely advanced version of the "Unseen Hands" used by her "successor" Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti, but it is far stronger as apart from being completely invisible, the force seems to have a bigger radius, a vastly superior speed and a bigger area of effect. This ability allowed Sekhmet to fight against the Divine Dragon himself, despite the Dragon coming out victorious.

Unseen Hand (見えざる手 Miezaru Te) (Used by Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti)

The Authority of Sloth allowed Petelgeuse to utilize a power he called the "Unseen Hands". The Unseen Hands were a technique that allowed Petelgeuse to summon numerous invisible hand-like appendages from his body that he could move and extend telekinetically. An Unseen Hand was strong enough to tear through flesh, bend and break bones, and shatter rock. The Hands could be combined together to create larger and more powerful hands. If the Witch Factor he used to make people into his fingers with, returned to his body, he was able to summon up to a hundred them. At his maximum potential, the Unseen Hands and the force behind each one was akin to a cannonball. Save for Subaru, Petelgeuse was the only person who could see the Unseen Hands. Petelgeuse also displayed the ability to propel himself forward through the air using the Unseen Hands, making it appear as if he's flying, though in reality, he's simply playing catch with his body being the thrown object.

Invisible Providence (インビジブル • プロヴィデンス Inbijiburu Purovidencu) (Used by Natsuki Subaru)

The user using "Invisible Providence" for the first time.
Unlike Betelgeuse who called the power the "Unseen Hand", after Echidna synchronised his body and the Witch factor of Sloth, Subaru manifested an Authority of Sloth Subaru chose to call his version of the Authority "Invisible Providence". Invisible Providence was a power that allowed Subaru to summon invisible hand-like appendages from his chest that he could move and extend telekinetically. One of these hands was strong enough to tear through flesh, bend and break bones, and shatter rock. If Subaru focused enough, he could make the tendrils of Invisible Providence phase through matter as though it wasn't there. Subaru's version of the Authority of Sloth was far less potent than both Petelgeuse's and Sekhmet's, as, although Petelgeuse for instance could summon roughly one hundred hands at his maximum potential with little effort, The user could only summon a single hand with minimal range and damage output. (Jaune uses this as means of Submissions.)

Authority of Greed:

Stillness of an Object's Time (物体の時間の静止 Buttai no Jikan no Seishi) (formerly Used by Regulus Corneas) (Now used by Jaune.)

The so-called Stillness of an Object's Time was Regulus' mainly offensive ability, named by Subaru. Regulus could stop the time of anything he was wearing, touching, or even his breath, which in turn stopped the object's or thing's interference from the outside world, only allowing its interference outwards and even granting Regulus the ability to freely manipulate the objects' shape. Small objects imbued with Stillness of an Object's Time could be used either as a form of platform which allowed Regulus to freely traverse on it, or be utilised as objects of imminent death and destruction as they created devastating and destructive attacks when used with malicious intent.

Lion's Heart (獅子の心臓 Shishi no Shinzō) (formerly Used by Regulus Corneas) (Currently used by Jaune.)

Jaune using Lion's Heart to nullify fatal damage while still receiving the force of the hit
Jaune stops the time of his own body for anywhere between five and ten seconds, granting him complete invincibility with anything past the five second mark causing excruciating pain to him, prompting him to deactivate it immediately. However due to Remnant's Humans And Faunus Unique physiology, Jaune Sufferes no Backlash. Allowing him to practically Abuse it. However if he uses it constantly he will suffer a Breathing Problem. (He is stopping the Time Of His Own Body. including his Heart.)

Authority of Gluttony

Authority of Wrath

Authority of Lust

Authority of Envy

Authority of Pride

Authority of Vainglory

Authority of Melancholy

Those are the powers Jaune Possesses. Also this sort of thing was annoying me deep in my mind as well. So I decided to make it Bio.

Now I'm sorry for Not completely Putting Details about all of the Authorities abilities.

It was getting way too long and Also some had no Names.

Hoping these story will be Good.

Re zero witch ofd sloth

The Witch of Sloth possesses the authority of Sloth, which allows her to manipulate and control time. This authority is a double-edged sword, as it grants her immense power but also causes her to be consumed by laziness and apathy. Petelgeuse initially appears as an antagonist in the series, aligned with the Witch's Cult, a group of fanatics who worship the witches. She is responsible for the deaths of several important characters and plays a significant role in the overall plot. However, as the series progresses, her character is explored more deeply, and her motives and backstory are revealed. Ultimately, the character of the Witch of Sloth serves as a symbol for the consequences of succumbing to laziness and apathy. She represents the dangers of wasting one's potential and the importance of taking action and responsibility for one's actions. In conclusion, the Witch of Sloth is a fascinating and complex character within the Re:Zero series. Her unique authority and unpredictable behavior make her a memorable and significant part of the story. Through her character, the series explores themes of power, responsibility, and the consequences of slothful behavior..
