These are all great distractions from the dire prophesy and all that wondering the reader will inevitably do about which two heroes will be the ones to die. Percy manages to shake her out of her stupor, and as they are cornered, they manage to get an Iris message to Camp Half-Blood and see Dionysus, the camp director.
As the story progresses, Percy learns that his friend Annabeth is in danger and is determined to rescue her. He is joined by his satyr friend Grover and the Hunters of Artemis, a group of young female hunters who have sworn loyalty to the goddess. Together, they journey through the Labyrinth, a dangerous underground maze, to find Annabeth and save Artemis.
