My better half shared an excellent scene from 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' the other day about dogs and plays. (I say no more for fear of releasing spoilers. ) The point is, there is a danger that we read too much into the arts, wading in with interpretation where it isn't warranted. But there are times when cultural outputs are that powerful that they need little explanation and we need not worry. The 2022 film 'Living' is one such example. One of the best films I have seen of late. And, more importantly, one of the best examples of leveraging the timeless power of classical music. Life is for living. But what happens when we forget this? And, most importantly, what happens when we grab our final opportunities to make amends? We've been bowled over by how 'Living', directed by Oliver Hermanus, with a stellar cast and production team behind it, addresses these questions. And particularly bowled over by the stunning use of classical music to bring this arresting message to the fore. Head to our blog to see us unpack this further. (Huge congratulations to all involved in this project: County Hall Arts, LIPSYNC POST , Number 9 Films, Rocket Science, Filmgate Films and others. And thank you for tackling life's big questions so deftly.) #classicalmusic #filmmusic #living #billnighy

I loved all the magic in this book, and I think the magic world is set up well. Though it is different than other magic systems I’veI’ve read about before, the book does an excellent job of explaining the magic system without a huge info dump.
