What a great name for a Magic card and if you find this Mythic Rare card in a draft booster, it s a 30-45 card and you just paid for about half the box price.

Hello everyone, I've compiled data on the price history of Collector Booster Box displays based on pricing data from MTGStocks and TCGPlayer. It's my intention to just provide a general overview of how Collector Booster Boxes performed throughout 2022, if you wish to see a further breakdown of their price trends both MTGStocks and TCGPlayer have graphs as well as annual highs. I will not be including Unfinity, Dominaria United, and The Brothers' War as they are too recent, nor will I be including the Universes Beyond: Warhammer 40k Collector decks.

Notes: Absolute disaster, too many things went wrong with this product.
Double Masters 2022

Notes: Supply more plentiful than people expected, it's still very easy to find both the Collector boxes and the Draft boxes of Double Masters 2022 near their original market price.
Final thoughts: 2022 has been a very rough year for collector boxes. Only four boxes have increased in price, with Core 2021 seeing the largest gains of any box. There has been pretty significant decreases in some products, most surprising to me was Throne of Eldraine. There were complete disasters to put it lightly, MID, AFR, VOW, all had their collector boxes on multiple Amazon sales for under $100. Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate takes the cake as possibly the biggest disaster for a Magic product of all time from a financial value; with pre-order prices almost reaching $350, with boxes now sitting at under $150.
Some sets did have decent success throughout the year. Many of boxes actually saw their annual highs in the May-June period of this year, but nearly everything tapered off around September.
Going forward I think it's very hard to take collector boxes seriously. Not every box has been a disaster, but as long as Wizards of the Coast is printing the quantity of boxes that they are, and selling the excess on Amazon at well below what even distributors are paying for it, it's going to be very hard to see these sets appreciate in value.
