On Halloween night, as the moon casts an eerie glow over the neighborhoods, children eagerly put on their costumes and prepare to go trick-or-treating. Among the many iconic Halloween characters, one that stands out is the witch. With her pointed hat, broomstick, and cauldron, the witch has become synonymous with Halloween. The image of a Halloween witch has its roots in ancient folklore and mythology. In many cultures, witches were believed to possess supernatural powers and were thought to be able to cast spells, brew potions, and fly through the night on their broomsticks. These beliefs and legends have shaped the modern portrayal of witches in popular culture.

The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation isn’t without some charm though, the retelling of this story goes some dark and strange places, and the acting is enjoyably cheesy for the most part. There are moments where it threatens to ramp things up in the gameplay department, but it’s not long before we’re into another boring chase sequence to slowly try and figure out. It’s short enough to power through if you really want to experience the story, but there are far better titles in the genre out there to play.

The final stretch, where we re avoiding a stalking predator through a series of corridors, fares better by being more transparent about its rules, and was actually enjoyably tense as a result. The characters are as stock as you can get bookish kid with glasses; sensitive, good-looking boy; sweet girl now dating the sensitive, good-looking boy; mean girl who used to date the sensitive guy before she was dumped; etc.

These beliefs and legends have shaped the modern portrayal of witches in popular culture. The Halloween witch is often depicted as an old woman with a crooked nose, warts, and a cackling laugh. She wears a tattered black dress, a pointy hat, and carries a broomstick as her trusty mode of transportation.

The iconic witch's broomstick originates from the myth that witches would fly to their gatherings by smearing a special ointment made from hallucinogenic herbs on their brooms. Riding the broomstick, they would soar through the night sky, visiting their fellow witches and causing mischief. A cornerstone of the Halloween witch's image is her cauldron. This large, black pot is often filled with a bubbling concoction, from which the witch conjures spells or brews magical potions. Cauldrons have long been associated with witches, as they are believed to be instruments used for witchcraft and divination. In Halloween decorations, the cauldron is often adorned with fake spiders, eyeballs, and other creepy objects to enhance the spooky atmosphere. As Halloween approaches, the sight of a Halloween witch is sure to send shivers down the spines of both children and adults. Whether encountered in movies, books, or decorations, the image of the witch on her broomstick is an enduring symbol of Halloween. So, as the night falls and the trick-or-treating begins, keep an eye out for the Halloween witch on her magical quest..
