The Ethical Dilemmas of Extraordinary Magic: Balancing Entertainment and Accessibility

By admin

Extraordinary magic exists in the world around us. It is not the magic of fairy tales and enchantments, but rather a magic that lies hidden within the ordinary. This form of magic allows us to see the beauty and wonder in everyday life. Extraordinary magic can be found in the simple act of waking up each morning to a new day. It is the magic of witnessing a sunrise and feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. It is the magic of breathing in fresh air and feeling the rhythm of your heartbeat.

Whimsical, fantastical, swirly—enter the world of Rochas Spring/Summer 2022 at Paris Fashion Week. As the debut catwalk show for Creative Director Charles de Vilmorin, the newly appointed designer presents a collection with a distinct point of view. One that is no doubt intriguing and has an eclectic spirit. With a varied narrative—first showcasing a color palette and designs embodying flames, then juxtaposing with de Vilmorin’s own drawings, and then in yet more contrast featuring deconstructed garments with rips and sliced pieces—the collection takes twists and turns fit for a jaunt in an edgy yet elegant wonderland.

Plissé lamé dresses in black, red, and dashes of orange and yellow, begin the show on a fiery foot. Long and short dresses with ruffles, pleats, and slits allow for movement and embody a strength fit for the modern wardrobe. One midi dress with a kind of winged trim brings the drama, along with wide calf boots donned with the same winged design that are nothing if not statement-making.

The collection transitions to showcase de Vilmorin’s playful and swirly drawings, printed on flowing skirts, dresses, and pants. In primary colors of red, blue, and yellow mixed with black, the designs embrace having fun with clothes, and are paired with modern and elegant forms fit for the contemporary dresser—high waisted, flared trousers and a halter crop top with a matching long skirt, along with a tailored, buttoned, floor-length suit coat with an open front.

The final segment of the collection takes another turn, this time a bit more edgy with sliced garments, a high low dress, and plaid. The knee-length dresses, wrapped bra top, and asymmetrical flowing forms speak to the woman of today, who celebrates feeling powerful in clothes without losing a sense of whimsy. Ruffles, the wing-like detailing, and abstract textured prints add dimension that celebrates uniqueness and is sure to make a statement.

Only time will tell the vision of Charles de Vilmorin for Rochas, but this is one fiery, statement-making start.

Fairycore: the whimsical trend

Fairycore is something that has been blowing up on social media, such as TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest lately. It’s definitely been on my For You Page, but what actually is fairycore, and why is it becoming so well-loved?

Fairycore is a style that mirrors and commemorates the magical beauties of nature and folklore, such as fairies, and pixies. The style, although reminiscent of mythical creatures, also includes a lot of the physical attractions in nature, namely flowers, butterflies, mushrooms, and dragonflies. The aesthetic and style of Fairycore are often whimsical but heavily accessorised, making people look like actual real-life fairies.

Fairycore is wonderfully eccentric, and the styles that are created by the trend are none other than beautiful. TikTok is one of the biggest platforms that has been promoting fairycore, as users have taken to creating videos of them showcasing their quaint outfits. The trend is not only extremely picturesque but strays away from today’s fashion by using vintage pieces and handmade jewellery.

Talia Doyle, a 20-year-old model living in Berlin, looks like a real-life fairy and is an avid lover of fairycore fashion. “I like gold jewellery and green dresses,” Talia explained. Gold jewellery and shades of green are prominent features within fairycore fashion. Talia said; “I like the swirls on the jewellery, especially the arm cuffs.” Arm cuffs are a unique concept and well-loved by fairycore lovers. Fairycore rising in popularity is a positive thing, as Talia stated; “It’s more popular, but it’s cute and it’s opening people up to being who they want to be earlier in life.” More people are beginning to express themselves via the pretty aesthetic, and with the trendiness of fairycore, more people are discovering themselves and their style.

Handmade jewellery is a large part of the fairycore aesthetic, and there are numerous small business channelling the aesthetic throughout their creations. Phoebe Doyle, a 26-year-old from Hampshire, owns Crystal Cocoon, a small business selling handmade jewellery and crochet fashion pieces. Phoebe was inspired by her admiration and passion towards fairycore, “I’ve had my business for a few years now, but I only started moving into a more fairycore style of accessories in the last two years I’d say,” Phoebe explained. Phoebe’s favourite thing about fairycore is the whimiscal vibe, and fairycore is her favourite style; she said “there’s so much variation and I just feel (fairycore) in my personality and aesthetic.”

Crystal-based jewellery makes a recurrent appearance in Phoebe’s small business, “I feel that crystals bring something special to my creations – they definitely add to the fairycore vibe and I love their healing energy”, Phoebe told us. Social media has no doubt been a prominent factor in the rising popularity of fairycore fashion, and Phoebe confirms this; “social media has allowed whole communities, dedicated to the fairycore style, and the opportunity to be inspired by others.”

Extra ordinkry magic

It is the magic of connecting with someone on a deep level and feeling understood. Extraordinary magic can be seen in the natural world as well. It is the magic of a blooming flower, a majestic tree, or a breathtaking landscape. It is the magic of witnessing the changing seasons and the cycle of life. This magic can also be found in the creative arts. It is the magic of a beautiful piece of music, a captivating novel, or a stunning painting. It is the magic of expressing ourselves through our own creations and touching the lives of others with our art. Extraordinary magic can even be found in the little things, the moments that often go unnoticed. It is the magic of a good cup of coffee, a cozy blanket, or a quiet moment of solitude. It is the magic of finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. In a world that can sometimes feel dull and ordinary, it is important to seek out and appreciate this extraordinary magic. It reminds us that there is always beauty and wonder to be found, even in the most ordinary of moments. So let us open our eyes and hearts to the magic that surrounds us, and let it fill our lives with joy and gratitude..

Reviews for "Extraordinary Magic and the Supernatural: Exploring its Spiritual Dimensions"

1. John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Extra ordinkry magic". The plot was poorly developed and confusing, with no clear direction. The characters were also shallow and lacked depth, making it difficult to connect with them. The writing style was choppy and inconsistent, with awkward dialogue and unnecessary descriptions. Overall, I found this book to be a waste of time and would not recommend it to others.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I cannot understand why "Extra ordinkry magic" has received any positive reviews. The story was incredibly predictable and lacked any originality. The magic system was poorly explained and inconsistent, leading to frequent plot holes. The pacing was also off, with slow and boring sections that felt like filler. The writing itself was average at best, with awkward phrasing and cliched descriptions. I was highly disappointed by this book and would not recommend it to anyone.
3. Emma - 2 stars - The concept of "Extra ordinkry magic" had so much potential, but unfortunately, it fell flat in execution. The world-building was lacking, leaving many unanswered questions and a lack of depth. The characters were uninteresting and forgettable, with very little development throughout the story. The writing style was also tedious, filled with unnecessary details and slow pacing. Overall, I was left feeling unimpressed and unsatisfied by this book.
