Blood, Guts, and Nintendo Switch: Dive into Curse of the Moon

By admin

The Curse of the Moon Switch Drenched in Blood is a unique tale of darkness and tragedy. It delves into the depths of a mysterious curse that haunts the moon switch, a seemingly insignificant object with a violent history. This curse, shrouded in blood and despair, is said to have the power to bring forth unspeakable horrors upon those who dare to interact with it. The story begins with a group of unsuspecting individuals who stumble upon the moon switch during a late-night exploration of an abandoned mansion. Ignorant of its dark past, they decide to take the switch with them as a souvenir, unknowingly invoking the curse that lies dormant within. As the days pass, strange and unsettling events start to unfold.

Curse of the Moon is one of my favorite retro-inspired games ever; it perfectly captures the feeling of the NES Castlevania titles and cleverly blends it with a few excellent mechanics to make an adventure that I have argued is better than Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I was absolutely floored when Curse of the Moon 2 was announced and picked it up on launch for the Nintendo Switch. Since then, I have spent countless hours playing through the game over and over thanks to the various additional modes and episodes, all the while smiling brightly and steadily increasing my skill. Unfortunately, there are enough rough spots and odd design choices that hold back this release when compared to the first title.

Yet, I couldn t even get past the third stage in Curse of the Moon 2 on Veteran and I had to switch to Casual, removing the knockback and the life system. Curse of the Moon is one of my favorite retro-inspired games ever; it perfectly captures the feeling of the NES Castlevania titles and cleverly blends it with a few excellent mechanics to make an adventure that I have argued is better than Bloodstained Ritual of the Night.

As you may know, Curse of the Moon 2 is a follow-up to "Curse of the Moon", which was a stretch goal for the original Bloodstained Kickstarter campaign. Curse of the Moon was made to emulate the "Castlevania 3" experience and featured demon-slayer Zangetsu as he travels to various areas in search of demons to slay. You got to meet various other characters (including Miriam from Bloodstained) and could either accept their help and journey on with them or forgo any compatriots. With it's 8-bit aesthetic and party member system, Curse of the Moon really nailed the "Castlevania 3" feel and retro gaming fans loved the title.

Apparently, we loved it so much that we now have "Curse of the Moon 2"! This title again features demon-slayer Zangetsu but this time with three new companions.

If you've played Bloodstained and/or Curse of the Moon, you're definitely in the right place. vinheim and I have already covered the excellent "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" with a 100% guide here on Neoseeker, so you know we have your back here (it's great to play with you guys again!).

Story

Zangetsu, the peerless swordsman from the East, crossed paths with fellow travelers on his quest for revenge. They overcame perilous battles and forged deep bonds, ultimately working together to strike down the demonic threat they pursued.

However, their journey was not yet complete.

Dominique, an exorcist sent by the church, who was sworn to revenge against demonkind, spread word of a tower on unknown origins. It is said to be constructed using methods once thought impossible for man to achieve.

It was known by the church as the "Demon Tower".

As if called forth by the tower itself, the demons' castle appeared once again. Is this a curse of fate, or the whim of the moon?

Zangetsu's blade flashed in the moonlight once more as the demons' stronghold beckoned.
