By admin

"The divine curse of Saint Kate" In the small and quaint village of Dunnsworth, nestled in the heart of the English countryside, there is a legend that has haunted the residents for centuries. Born out of fear and whispered among the generations, it is known as the divine curse of Saint Kate. The legend begins with the tragic tale of a young woman named Katherine, or as the villagers called her, Saint Kate. She was a devout believer, known for her unwavering faith and her dedication to helping others. It was said that her acts of kindness knew no bounds, and she selflessly devoted herself to the welfare of the village. However, her virtuous actions caught the attention of a jealous and vengeful witch, who had been cast out of the village many years prior.

She is someone who carries a weight around with her, something that drags her down, makes her feel unworthy and never truly allows her to reach her full potential. Alongside these, Dramis gives us a well built cast of side characters who I adored, especially Tova, the third member of the Queen court and Josie, Aidon s sister.

The divine curse of Saint Kate

However, her virtuous actions caught the attention of a jealous and vengeful witch, who had been cast out of the village many years prior. Enraged by Katherine's popularity and goodness, the witch devised a plot to bring about her downfall. One fateful night, the witch laid a curse upon Saint Kate, summoning the powers of darkness and invoking the wrath of the gods.

DISCOVER THE EPIC NEW ROMANTIC FANTASY EVERYONE HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT!

As an elite spy and the Queen’s Third-in-Command, Aya has dedicated herself to a life of discipline and duty, using her gods-given abilities to keep dark magic from ever returning to the realm. Her oath ensures she will always act to protect those she fights alongside—including Will, the Queen’s Enforcer and Aya’s bitter rival.

Forced by circumstance to work together, Aya and Will struggle to come to an uneasy truce. But when tragedy strikes, Aya instinctively reacts, unleashing a power that hasn’t been seen in over 500 years. Shaken, she’s confronted with an impossible truth: one that threatens the precious grip she keeps on her control. One that forces her to work with Will to discover who—or what—she really is. And one that could turn her into a weapon in a war she doesn’t know how to win. With Will at her side and untold power at her fingertips, Aya will have to decide: Has she been sent to save the realm she loves…or destroy it?

And that’s not all, because what better way to get you excited than to actually show you some of the book? That’s right, here’s an exclusive excerpt:

She’d had two weeks to wrestle with Gianna’s words. Two weeks to play her past on repeat as night bled into the early hours of morning. Two weeks to try to suffocate the tiny seed of hope that had taken root inside of her, the one that said perhaps Gianna was right about her power.

Because if her queen was right, if the prophecy did indeed speak of her, then that meant—

Aya cut off the thought immediately. It did her no good to cling to foolish hopes. Gianna could claim what she wanted. Aya knew the truth.

She was no saint. She was not the light her mother used to whisper about in those tales she told late at night about Evie and her equal.

Would her mother have ever imagined that one day someone would think her prideful, stubborn daughter was the one the Conoscenza spoke of?

Even then, Aya had been a serious, reserved child. The winter wind to her mother’s warm and comforting spring breeze. A cautious soul, her mother had once whispered as she tucked her into her side. But with a burning flame of love saved for those who warrant it.

But whatever flame she had sensed in Aya had been doused as soon as her own had been extinguished on the waves of the Anath Sea. And Aya had buried her fear, her pain, her guilt, and leaned instead into the only thing that made sense.

Control. Discipline. Distance.

She had found her place in shadows and darkness, in cold alleyways and dilapidated bars, in the smooth handle of a dagger and sharp steel of a blade.

She was not a beacon of light.

She was not a savior of nations or realms.

If the gods had chosen her, they had chosen wrong.

But Will had been right. She was dangerous.

So Aya would do what she did best. She would bury her fear and hone her anger into something cold, and quiet, and lethal.

Something that slipped through the night without detection.

Something that people never saw coming.

Something that could loosen secrets, and win allies, and maybe, just maybe, channel what was inside of her to aid in the coming war.

For the oath she had taken to protect her kingdom.

And perhaps for herself, too.

The divine curse of saint kate

From that moment on, it was said that misfortune would befall any villager who dared to cross Katherine's path, or worse, bring harm to her. With the curse in place, the village of Dunnsworth descended into chaos. Crops withered, livestock fell ill, and no matter how hard the villagers worked, prosperity remained out of reach. Fear and despair consumed the once-thriving community, and it seemed that the curse of Saint Kate would forever plague their lives. For centuries, the villagers lived in fear, unable to escape the divine curse that awaited those who tempted fate. The memories of Saint Kate, once a symbol of hope and goodness, became twisted and distorted. Her name was whispered with trepidation and as a harbinger of doom. Generations came and went, each one burdened by the curse that seemed to have no end. Some tried to lift the curse, seeking the help of priests, witches, and exorcists, but all attempts proved futile. It appeared that the wrath of Saint Kate was relentless and unyielding. As time went by, the curse of Saint Kate became more of a cautionary tale, a reminder of the consequences of envy and spite. It served as a constant reminder to the villagers that the pursuit of goodness should be cherished and protected. Today, although the divine curse of Saint Kate still lingers in the hearts and minds of the villagers of Dunnsworth, it has become more of a legend than a reality. The curse serves as a lesson, reminding people to be kind, to embrace goodness, and to live with compassion. It teaches the importance of nurturing love and friendship, and the understanding that one's actions can have far-reaching consequences. For as long as the legend of Saint Kate remains alive, the village of Dunnsworth will continue to honor her memory, not as a symbol of doom, but as a symbol of hope and as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, goodness will always prevail..

Reviews for "The Divine Consequences of Saint Kate's Curse"

1. John - 2/5 stars - I was really looking forward to reading "The Divine Curse of Saint Kate" based on the synopsis and the buzz it generated. However, I found it to be incredibly disappointing. The plot was convoluted, with too many unnecessary subplots that added nothing to the overall story. The characters were underdeveloped, and I struggled to connect with any of them. The writing style felt choppy and disjointed, making it difficult to follow along. Overall, this book fell flat for me, and I cannot recommend it.
2. Sarah - 1/5 stars - I found "The Divine Curse of Saint Kate" to be a complete waste of time. The story had potential, but it was executed poorly. The pacing was inconsistent, with some parts dragging on and others rushing through important plot points. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to believe in the characters and their interactions. The ending was also unsatisfying, leaving many loose ends and unanswered questions. I regret spending my time and money on this book.
3. Emily - 2/5 stars - "The Divine Curse of Saint Kate" had an intriguing premise, but it failed to deliver. The writing style was overly descriptive, with unnecessary details that slowed down the already weak plot. The characters lacked depth and motivation, making it hard to care about their journey. The world-building was also underwhelming, with a lack of unique elements that could have made the story more engaging. Overall, I felt bored and uninterested while reading this book, and I would not recommend it to others.
4. Robert - 3/5 stars - I had high hopes for "The Divine Curse of Saint Kate," but it fell short for me. While the concept was interesting, I found the execution to be lacking. The pacing was off, with long stretches of inaction followed by sudden bursts of action that felt out of place. The writing was average, with a few grammatical errors that could have been easily fixed. The characters were somewhat engaging, but they were overshadowed by the confusing plot. It's not a terrible book, but it didn't meet my expectations.
