RPGM - Completed - Magical Girl Celesphonia [v1.07] [Shimobashira Workshop/Kagura Games]

Not only is this game tremendously better than I thought it would be, but it's also kinda long! Many sex scenes which I havent come close to finding them all, fun combat that isnt really grindy, cool events and what ifs, and a soundtrack that shouldnt be as good as it is.

While I will rate it 5/5, I do wish there was a bit more variety in the voice effects during scenes, and a bit more than still images. Even so, there are a great many scenes.

Almost forgot to mention, but this game actually can be played with only one hand (the mouse can control everything)

One of the better games published by Kagura Games, it's your standard RPG game with good QOL features. Mechanic wise, it's standard, just level up your character and progress through the different enemies. Of course this is connected to the scenes you can see as well, lose to each unique enemy and get a different H scene.

This brings me to the seggs itself, you visit a unique area of the map that'll give you special NPCs or places to get to your scenes. Artwork looks nice, although somewhat varied by the end of your gameplay you'll realize a lot of the same poses and positions are used and it may get a bit repetitive. Overall pretty good.

I feel that Ambrosia is better than Celesphonia gameplay-wise.
Sex-wise about the same.

Dev slacked a bit, didn't consider combat mechanics very thoroughly since you can do stuff like running away from combat, placing her behind the enemy you just ran away from, waiting momentarily til that enemy is combat ready again, and then one-shotting them easily.
Also didn't need to deal with slightly-annoying domination mechanics in Ambrosia on highest difficulty, not a big deal but still a bit of a chore. Also when she transforms she can only wear one costume, and that is boring.

There are other gripes i have with Celesphonia as well.
I was even bored near the end, that never happened when i played Ambrosia.
So yeah, Ambrosia in my opinion is definitely better than Celesphonia all-around. Story included.

Btw a helpful Engram tip:
Bonuses from Engrams do stack.
So if, for example, you have 'Soul Purification I' and 'Soul Purification II' from 'Healing Engram II' and 'Healing Engram III' you will get a massive amount of bonus souls from stacking these. Same applies to combat bonuses like +% mag or +% attack and others.
However, the same passives will not stack even if you're getting them from different Engrams.
For example Soul Purification I that comes from healing Engram I and II will not stack because it's basically the same skill. Have fun~

gamedeal user May 7, 2022 Top tier Ero game gamedeal user May 7, 2022 Played for the Ero. Stayed for the deep rpg system and fun grind. gamedeal user May 7, 2022 gamedeal user May 8, 2022 I bought this on DLsite and have like 50 hrs in this game. It is a must buy

You like Ambrosia?? You like corruption system?? Good news!! There is like 4 different corruption system in this game.

A normal sexy one, a hypnosis meter, a student reputation. And an evil corruption system that unlock skills and gear. Like wtf, who put so much effort in my RPG maker ero-game? Lol. All these systems also unlock different H-scenes. About the H, there is a lot of variety. You can go virgin route and still have fun. sexual harassment, glory hole, rape, anal, public bathhouse, exhibitionist, prostitution, gangbang, drug, tentacle, having 14 fxxing kids etc. Basically, every kink is in here. It is also partially voiced in the h-scenes The story is good, but I still like Ambrosia better. Flode gets to be a Champion of Slxt God and pillar of the community, kek. But you just get fXXk a lot in this game. Basically, quoting Green Goblin: "The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you.” Being a magical girl is suffering. Kek, and by fail, I mean get fXXk by all sort of things. Also, there is like 4 or 5 different endings and 2 endgame mission with h-scenes. The replayability is pretty good. I would say at least 10 hrs for first round and 15hrs for all ending. The combat is your basic RPGmaker combat with sexual combat system, like getting grab by the pussy. There is a lot of crafting and collecting. If you don’t care about this, just lower the difficulty, or use cheat engine.

I cannot believe this game is only $20. I've been literally unable to stop being horny after playing this game for 14 hours straight, and I don't think I'm even nearing the end yet. There's just such a ridiculous amount of content to discover which keeps getting me excited to find what I haven't seen yet.

gamedeal user May 9, 2022

Honestly, this is a better RPG than an H-game. While there is a lot (and I do mean a lot, for a 20 dollar game) of h-content in this game, this is a female lead corruption themed game, that isn't called Karryn's prison. And that means all the h-content is locked behind losing, or becoming corrupted, which are functionally the same thing. I realise this is what we come to expect in games like this, but it's still disappointing. In order to see the vast majority of the h-content in this game you need to lose to every boss monster at least once, and have a high 'lust' score. Lust is basically how horny the MC is, and while not a lose condition, high lust will lead to increases in corruption, which IS a lose condition. The two are separate, but linked, losing will raise your lust and corruption, having high lust will make it easier to lose. Lots of overworld events (prostitution, casual sex, etc) are locked behind having a high lust score. And to cap it all off, the game has multiple endings (not counting the numerous bad ends) that are based around your lust and corruption, so if you want a good ending you need to skip h-content or do a new play-through after your good ending. Which is a shame because the h-content that's here is really good (if you're into corruption, standard magical girl shit, girl doesn't like it until she realises she does and gets addicted to sex, nothing groundbreaking.) What game there is here, is a surprisingly crunchy turn based JRPG with lots of crafting and customisation (and a lot more depth on a corrupted play-though with access to more skills and corrupted weapons, go figure). Grinding is quick, but as usual, a lot faster on a corruption playthrough since you can just eat the souls of monsters directly instead of having your magic book dilute them into safe to consume portions. All in all, it was worth the money, and I liked it, but goddamn can we ever move past 'lose to lewd' games.

Memories broken The truth goes unspoken I’ve even forgotten my name I don’t know the season Or what is the reason I’m standing here holding my blade A desolate place Without any trace It’s only the cold wind I feel It’s me that I spite As I stand up and fight The only thing I know for real There will be blood-shed The man in the mirror nods his head The only one left Will ride upon the dragon’s back Because the mountains don’t give back what they take Oh no There will be blood-shed It’s the only thing I’ve ever known Losing my identity Wondering have I gone insane To find the truth in front of me I must climb this mountain range Looking downward from this deadly height And never realizing why I fight

gamedeal user May 11, 2022

I am a huge fan of corruption games. Ignore my playtime, i beat the game last night at level 92 on normal with 46 hours of game play time. Summary Magical Girl Celesphonia is an erotic corruption game that in my opinion is best enjoyed playing as a slow burn corruption with your own narrative so you can see her fall. It was extremely satisfying and erotic for me to see her gradually rack up titles and the mental changes to her hobbies and likes. I did not use any lust boosting items to make the journey slower. i will now break down the enjoyable aspects of the game that made me play it for so long. 1. The art is rly erotic. Celesphonia just radiates the right amount of uncertainty and eroticism. Music carries the right mood too. 2. No censors. Yep, it's amazing. 3. Some secrets. Game has some secrets which may be hard to encounter in a normal playthrough. For the most part you don't need them to progress the game. 4. There is a wideeeeeee variety of fetishes for anyone that likes the corruption genre. 5. Yet despite all this, Celesphonia still retains main traits of a heroine and i was rooting for her to be successful towards in the end. 6. the mechanics of the game seems complex but it's fairly straightforward and the game gives you sufficient time to manage both status bars if you don't rush it too quickly. 7. The cursed items are great. I like that one is reflected in the art. I would like it if all the cursed items reflected on Celesphonia but i understand it might be too big a task. 8. Bad ends. There are some bad ends. I would like it if there was a bad end for each genre but that would be very challenging. 8. Pregnancy mechanic, though while simple, is satisfying. It made me change the narrative for my Celesphonia after encountering the event. 9. QoL. This game contains alot of QoL that should be in other rpgmaker games. Examples include, a feature showing obtainable materials in each area, monster drops, quick travel. Map mid point teleporters. 10. Corruption fighting style. It's pretty flavourful. Stronger equipments with drawbacks that require corruption level. I do wish that it could be reflected in game but i think it's a difficult task. The combat generally is straightforward and enjoyable with various possible builds. 11. Post game. There are some post game events which shows the effort put into this game. 11. The ending is satisfying. The ending ending is even more satisfying. It made the narrative i wrote for Celesphonia to come to an amazing end Cons. No CG opener. Even with the tips to unlock CG, it was quite hard to unlock them . I did not unlock all the CGs as i wanted to Celesphonia to have certain traits more than the others. There are some bugs when playing certain H events. I need to exit the game and restart it to fix it. It can break immersion. I wish there was an auto play function or a notification telling us we have seen this event before. What i wanted to see more. More sprite variety, voice lines reflecting mental and physical changes and more events with CG of course. I hope Kagura games translate other great corruption titles ( cough Anti Domi Heaven Armament ) and i hope Shimobashira Workshop make more quality games.
