Magic by olivia newton john

Come take my hand
You should know me
I've always been in your mind
You know I will be kind
I'll be guiding you

Building your dream
Has to start now
There's no other road to take
You won't make a mistake
I'll be guiding you

You have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive

I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you

From where I stand
You are home free
The planets align so rare
There's promise in the air
And I'm guiding you

Through every turn I'll be near you
I'll come anytime you call
I'll catch you when you fall
I'll be guiding you

You have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive

I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you

Hey, have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive

I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive

It reads like a persons self-esteem pushing them onward toward greater things. Not to be afraid to move forward in life, not to be afraid to fail. However, the esotericist in me thinks the song is about a spirit guide. Read it again and put it in the context of a spirit guide or guardian angel. I'm right, huh?

@NuSoardGraphit This is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I paid attention to the lyrics for the first time today. I felt like this song was from the point-of-view of a Higher Self or spirit guide(s) giving the ego encouragement to pursue fulfillment in this current life.

@NuSoardGraphit This seems like a great interpretation! I think it fits better for a spirit to be ‘guiding’ rather than a living person. Great lyrics - inspiring and comforting concepts

This is the simple lesson in life. Negative thinking distorts or disturbes the guidances of the monad so that your aim does str, wasting your time with countless imaginings unimportant to the destiny. Once you realize and quietr these fuckjed up fraudulent motherfuckers inside your head. And if your not dead, then listen to this bitch. She talks some ggod shit eh. Basically, no matter the perceived results that YOU see, if you continue to persevere without giving up and you keep you dreams and aspirations alive no matter how humble or bold they will come true by the will of god our innermost. Its how it has been written and its how it shall be sold.

It has a very special meaning in my life because I had a weird experience while listening to it by mistake. That is all I can really say.

This is not a song about positive or negative thinking, but rather about magical thinking. The singer rejects reality, as "Nothing can stand in our way." This song is about a couple who hopes to find eternal love through magical thinking, and ignoring the truth. It is mostly about a fantasy woman who will always catch the man before he falls, who will come whenever he calls, who will bring all his dreams alive. Unless, of course, she gets breast cancer or befalls some other reality.

Love the song! I used to think it was about a special, romantic relationship implying that this fantasy woman actually exists ( "have to believe we are magic. make all your dreams alive"). The part about "make your dreams come true" makes me think of a sexual fantasy happening (sorry but being a man I can't help it plus which Olivia's beautiful and sexy voice it seems like a common reaction (for a man)). Now, I think the song is more about a spiritual connection. Maybe the physical aspects are there too but as I've learned over many years, the special friendship, support and love that come into relationships is what the "magic" is all about.

Reviews for "From Pop Princess to Spiritual Guru: The Magic of Olivia Newton John's Reinvention"

1. John Smith - 2 stars
I was really disappointed in Olivia Newton John's "Magic" album. I have been a fan of her previous work, but this album fell flat for me. The songs all sounded the same, and there was a lack of creativity and originality. It felt like I was listening to recycled pop tunes from the 80s. I expected more from such a talented artist like Olivia Newton John.
2. Sarah Johnson - 1 star
I couldn't stand "Magic" by Olivia Newton John. The whole album felt forced and overproduced. Some of the songs were so cheesy and generic that I couldn't help but cringe. It seemed like she was trying too hard to remain relevant in the music industry. I miss the old Olivia Newton John, who had a unique sound and meaningful lyrics. This album was a major letdown.
3. Robert Thompson - 2 stars
I was really hoping for something magical from Olivia Newton John's "Magic", but I was left feeling disappointed. The album lacked depth and substance. The melodies were forgettable and the lyrics were unimaginative. It felt like a cookie-cutter pop album that was trying to cater to a younger audience. I was hoping for something more mature and sophisticated from such a respected artist.
4. Emily Davis - 1 star
I did not enjoy "Magic" by Olivia Newton John at all. The songs were overly simplistic and lacked any emotional depth. It felt like she was just going through the motions without putting any real effort into the album. The whole experience was underwhelming and forgettable. I expected better from someone as talented as Olivia Newton John.
