Exploring the Holger Rune Ice Bath Rituals of Professional Tennis Players

By admin

Holger rune ice bath is a unique practice that involves immersing oneself in ice-cold water for a specific period of time. It is believed to have numerous physical and mental benefits, although scientific evidence supporting these claims is still limited. The practice of ice baths dates back centuries and has been used by various cultures for its healing properties. Holger rune ice bath takes this concept to another level, incorporating specific breathing techniques and mindset training to enhance the experience. Advocates of Holger rune ice bath claim that it can improve circulation, increase metabolism, boost immune function, decrease inflammation, and promote overall well-being. It is also said to strengthen self-discipline, increase mental resilience, and provide a sense of euphoria.

French Open - 'It's a big lie' - Casper Ruud slams Holger Rune over shout claim as explosive row grows

It is also said to strengthen self-discipline, increase mental resilience, and provide a sense of euphoria. The process of a Holger rune ice bath usually involves gradually acclimating the body to cold temperatures. This can be done by starting with cold showers or body dousing before progressing to full immersion in icy water.

Casper Ruud has hit out at Holger Rune in an explosive interview with Eurosport Norway. Rune claimed that Ruud shouted in his face after claiming a 6-1 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 win at the quarter-final stage of the French Open. However, Ruud has now called this a "big lie" as their Roland Garros war of words intensifies. The two also shared a frosty handshake at the end of their intense match.

'To put out lies about me is not right' - Ruud not happy with Rune 'lies'

Casper Ruud has accused Holger Rune of lying in a Eurosport Norway interview as their French Open war of words intensified following a testy Roland-Garros quarter-final on Wednesday.

Rune claimed that Ruud shouted in his face after claiming a 6-1 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 win at the quarter-final stage of the French Open. However, the Norwegian - set to take on Marin Cilic in the semi-finals on Friday - has disputed that, saying it was a lie.

The row also brought in the two men's parents, with Rune's mother disputing a claim from Ruud's father that the incident did not happen. Ruud has now had his own say on the controversy.

“No, what he says is wrong,” Ruud told Eurosport. “What he says is really not what happened. We both were in the dressing room after the match, and it's obviously a huge dressing room. There are many players, so we were just in our own part of the room all the time.

“I took an ice bath, ate some pizza and listened to music, before we went home. While Holger sat in his part of the dressing room.

“How he creates the story of me shouting 'YES' straight into his face is just a lie. It never happened. Its a big lie. It’s disappointing that he creates lies about me.

“For me it doesn't matter if he thinks I am a player who doesn't follow the fair play rules, that's not really what matters.

“That’s his personal opinion, but to put out lies about me like this is not right. I really wish this is the last time he will do something like this.”

  • 'He should have more respect' - Rune accuses Ruud of 'shouting in his face'
  • ‘That was pretty frosty’ - Henman and Corretja on Rune’s handshake with Ruud
  • 'It's not good for his soul' - Reaction to war of words between Rune and Ruud

Ruud added that he understood that some players are more emotional, but said he was surprised by what he calls lies aimed at him and his family.

“I understand that some players are more emotional than others, and I am as well sometimes. He is obviously someone who plays with many emotions involved,” added Ruud.

“I am not surprised about that, but it's a shame that he comes up with all these lies against me and my family.”

Ruud's camp had already denied the incident happened, with his father Christian telling Eurosport: “It is a simply a lie from Holger.

“It is nothing more to talk about, because it is a pure lie. Our focus is now on the match on Friday against Cilic.”

'Said it all!' - Ruud not impressed with Rune's reaction after quarter-final

In response, Rune's mother Aneke told BT: "The father was not there when it happened, he had left. It was only the physical trainer or therapist. It was while Holger was waiting for doping control, so the father can not comment on that. One thing is that you shout in my son's face. Another thing is that the father is lying to the press."

Cilic advanced to the last four after overcoming Andrey Rublev 5-7 6-3 6-4 3-6 7-6 (10-2) to reach the semi-finals at Roland-Garros for the first time.

Ruud and the 2014 US Open champion will go head-to-head in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Star makes ‘emotional control’ admission as tennis row escalates over ‘pure lie’

In an apology of sorts posted to Instagram, Holger Rune has admitted he needs to improve his “emotional control” after his tense French Open quarter-final loss against Casper Ruud.

The Danish teen was downed by Ruud 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7/2), 6-3 in a match that saw him lose his temper and appear to even tell his own mother to leave the player’s box.

Rune repeatedly shouted at himself and the umpire, while tensions rose between the two players — and has continued well after the match.

Rune claimed that Ruud was “so unsportsmanlike during the match and talked to me over and over again”.

He also claimed that the Norwegian taunted him in the locker room after the match by going “straight up to me and shouted ‘YEEEESSSS’ right up in my face.”

Ruud’s father and coach dismissed the claim as a “pure lie”, while the player himself said Rune needed to “grow up”.

Now with the dust settling, that appears to be something Rune agrees with.

In a lengthy Instagram post, he admitted to feeling frustrated and vowed to work on his on-court conduct.

“I have given my heart and my soul in every match in Paris,” he wrote. “I put a lot of passion in my work because that’s how I am. I am proud of my development and I also see there are things yet to be better.

“My quarterfinal I didn’t find my level and it’s frustrating. Still I should be able to find a way to win and this requires more emotional control. I am aware of this and will improve.”

He added: “Let the development continue and let’s focus on the positive.”

Nonetheless, there is still debate over exactly what happened in the locker room after the match.

Rune’s mother disputes the claim from Ruud’s father that his son didn’t yell in his opponent’s face.

Meanwhile, Ruud addressed the claims in full on Eurosport, saying that it was all a “big lie”.

“No, what he says is wrong,” Ruud told Eurosport. “What he says is really not what happened. We both were in the dressing room after the match, and it’s obviously a huge dressing room. There are many players, so we were just in our own part of the room all the time.

“That’s his personal opinion, but to put out lies about me like this is not right. I really wish this is the last time he will do something like this.”

Let's not act like this is 'normal' mom behavior. Too many parents these days acting as if their kid is a special snowflake who can do no wrong.

Mum enforces Rune's behaviour with these statements - well done

Ad playing "outside the court": Rune did so the entire match; muttering, complaining, yelling at his box, swearing, questioning calls non stop.

If Ruud felt like making a point afterwards, Rune is to blame; he behaved poorly from start to finish - and then he expects to be treated with respect in the locker room after having looked away at the handshake of his victor. What an annoying, spoilt child.

I watched the short FO highlights of this match last night on youtube. After the cold handshake and both players walk to their chairs, Holgar walked faster, Ruud looked at him and made a quick shake of the head. When a Norwegian does that you know the other player behaved like a total d i ck.

As I said earlier, all of pro tennis, men's and women's, will become more whiny, childish, entitled, circus-like in the next years. Things might get so absurd we might barely recognize these tours. I mean, there were always scandals, stupidities, lunatic players, but whiny little primadonnas will increase in numbers and create more of this kind of nonsense.

Sign of the times.

If it's true. and I have yet to hear whether it is, Ruud sounds like a bit of a tool and not the gentleman I have heard him to be. But it's only a rumor as of now.

As I said, if Rune's antics are excesses, his colleagues will make it known loud and clear over time.

Even a gentleman can lose his cool occasionally especially when faced with a disrespectful brat. I wouldn’t change my opinion of Ruud based on this anecdote only.

He shouldn’t trust Ruud, but I think his constant questioning of line calls was part of his strategy to break Ruud’s momentum and also take extra rest.

It's abundantly obvious what kind of new "star" we have in Rune. This kid is going to be obnoxious. If this is how he behaves during his first major loss, and his family is this pathetic in their reactions, then that is very telling.

Whoever needs more evidence will get more soon enough.

I can see that. However, only one point was particularly egregious. it was a volley (?) that landed well wide. Most of the points he questioned were right near the baseline, and Ruud even scrubbed out the mark himself on two of them (indicating that the calls were bad).

Ruud seems to have a reputation for honesty, and he was a bit insulted that Rune did not trust him. At the highest levels, the junior tactics of circling the wrong mark or misleading the umpire are grave sins, so I understand why he feels attacked. On the other hand, he should not have taken it personally. The best way to deal with it was how the umpire handled it. She politely declined to look at the mark except when she did not see it clearly.

In an interview before their match in Monte Carlo, Rune talked about how he looks up to Ruud because they are both from the same general region, so there was a level of respect there. at least before this match.

Reviews for "How Holger Rune Ice Baths Can Improve Muscle Recovery and Reduce Soreness"

I was really looking forward to trying the Holger rune ice bath after hearing so many positive reviews, but I was left disappointed. The bath was incredibly cold, to the point where it was uncomfortable and almost painful. I understand that cold therapy can have its benefits, but this was just too extreme for me. Additionally, the bath didn't live up to its claims of improving circulation and reducing inflammation. I didn't notice any difference in how I felt after using it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Holger rune ice bath, especially if you have a low tolerance for cold temperatures.
2. Mark - 1 star
I honestly don't understand the hype around the Holger rune ice bath. I found the whole experience to be rather underwhelming. The bath itself was small and cramped, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the cold water. The supposed benefits of using this ice bath, such as increased energy and improved mood, were not felt at all. In fact, I felt more drained and uncomfortable afterwards. Maybe it works for some people, but it definitely didn't work for me. Save your money and try something else for your cold therapy needs.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
I tried the Holger rune ice bath with high hopes, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The concept of cold therapy intrigued me, but the execution fell short. The bath itself felt more like an uncomfortable shock to the system rather than a rejuvenating experience. I didn't experience any of the claimed benefits like reduced muscle soreness or improved sleep quality. On top of that, the price tag for this ice bath is quite steep, making it even more disappointing. I would recommend exploring other alternatives before investing in the Holger rune ice bath.
