The mission of Stone Circle Council is to build a safe and supportive religious community, to support and nurture the people that comprise it rather than only the places where they gather. We hold regular religious ceremonies, spiritual festivals, and fellowship opportunities; by empowering our members to organize and offer their own ceremonial events, and by providing a welcoming environment in which individuals can join us in worship and community. We will focus our intention through the ceremonial raising of stones in any place they are welcomed, needed, and honored. Please visit our website at https://www.stonecirclecouncil.org

The Church of the Knotted Ash is a witchcraft tradition which is more than a decade old, having originated in Buffalo, New York. The Knotted Ash is a “wicca adjacent” tradition — our elders have wiccan lineage, but the tradition incorporates elements of practice that embrace both Norse and Celtic deities. Our tradition supports and embodies inclusive paganism. Though the Church originated in Western New York, it has had a presence in the greater Washington, DC area since 2009. That presence is currently helmed by Lady Alythia, a Third Degree High Priestess in the Knotted Ash Tradition. The Knotted Ash regularly offers introductory classes, most recently through Sticks and Stones in Fairfax, Virginia, and previously online through Frederick CUUPS. More advanced study is available by invitation only.

Njörðr’s Wanderers is an evidenced-based living history group looking for volunteers to present at our events. Our guiding principle is to present to the public the current knowledge of early Medieval trade, industry, and commerce in northwest Europe through talk and demonstration. Our mission is to demonstrate daily life by presenting a typical trading camp found along the shores and rivers within the North Sea region, from the middle of the 8 th to the middle of the 10 th centuries. We portray various peoples and cultures that one would encounter in emerging trade towns, like Jorvik, Dublin, Ribe, and Rouen. Njordr’s Wanderers is passionate about matters of inclusion; we will not discriminate against anyone who wishes to participate in any way based on sex, race, etc., nor do we welcome those who do.

Reviews for "Embracing Diversity: Joining LGBTQ+ Inclusive Wiccan Groups Near You"

1. Laura - 1 star
I recently attended a Wiccan group near me, and it was a complete disappointment. The group was disorganized, and there was no structure or focus during the meetings. It seemed like everyone was just there to socialize, rather than practice and deepen their knowledge in Wicca. I was hoping to learn more about the craft and connect with like-minded individuals, but it felt more like a casual hangout than a serious group. I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied.
2. Mark - 2 stars
I joined a local Wiccan group hoping to meet fellow practitioners and learn from experienced individuals. However, I was met with a clique-like atmosphere where newcomers were not welcomed or included. The group was tightly-knit and seemed more interested in gossiping and drama than actually practicing Wicca. The lack of inclusivity and mentorship was a letdown, and I didn't feel like I belonged or had a chance to grow within the group. Disappointing experience overall.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
The Wiccan group I joined near me lacked a sense of authenticity and depth. It appeared to be more focused on surface-level rituals rather than delving into the deeper aspects of Wiccan spirituality. The conversations during meetings were shallow, and I didn't feel like I was able to connect with any of the members on a meaningful level. I was searching for a group that would provide spiritual guidance and support, and unfortunately, this group fell short of my expectations.
