Advanced Guide to Grundo Snowthrow

It must have been over ten years ago. I was a young Neopian whose Neo-identity was avatar collector, and I was pretty good at it too. I had already secured lends for the ultimate trio: the BGC, MSPP and SUAP. I had battled and triumphed over Kasuki Lu, the Black Pteri and even the Space Faerie in the battledome. And after hours of practice, I had tackled most of the game avatars. At this point of my avatar collecting journey, I finally set my sights on the next challenge… Grundo Snowthrow. It was an adorable avatar, one with an angry green Grundo standing with his fists clenched against a twinkling blue backdrop. It was perfect for the holiday season, and a must have in my book. Little did I know, that began a decade-long quest for that elusive avatar, more time than I had ever dedicated to any other avatar. So many times, I reached 7,000 or 8,000 points, only to be foiled by a pesky little hole I could not mend. So many times, I was foiled by the Snow Lupes as they took down my snowmen one by one. Finally, on a bright winter morning in December of Year 25, I completed that quest as a not-so-young Neopian. I am now the proud owner of Grundo Snowthrow! I’m here to share all the tips I’ve learned over a decade of snowballs and ice blocks. Read on if you find yourself in the shoes I once wore!

10 Budget-Friendly Petpets to Avoid and 10 Alternatives

The low price tag on some Petpets makes them a tempting option but cheap does not mean easy! New Petpet owners are frequently shocked by how much investment these "cheap" Petpets require. All too often, once the excitement about an adorable new Petpet fades, these poor creatures end up abandoned at the Money Tree. Petpet shop owners will insist their Petpets are quiet, well-behaved, and low-maintenance. These unscrupulous merchants are happy to sell Petpets with challenging care requirements to first-time Petpet owners, no questions asked. In short, some Petpets are not for everyone. Here is a list of some common Petpets that require more complicated care, and a list of comparably-priced, lower-maintenance alternatives. #10 Think twice about: Altachuck The Altachuck, an emblem of Altador, is an adorable and loyal Petpet. Many people don’t realize that they are actually scared of EVERYTHING: "loud noises, sudden movements, and anything that starts with the letter D". Do you know how many things in the average Neohome begin with the letter D?? These poor nervous creatures live in terror more often than not. Chronic fear takes a toll on the Altachuck’s health. Many Altachucks suffer from stressed immune systems, "accidents" on the carpet, and fur loss. Would-be owners of Altachucks need to carefully prepare and control their home environment, for the health and happiness of their Petpet.

"Ramona and The Snowager" by peppermintandrea
As Ramona stepped out of her hut, the snow started falling harder. Neopets and their owners quickly ran in and out of the building across the way, which held the advent calendar. It was almost the end of the month, so Happy Valley would soon become quieter as the daily visitors to the advent calendar would stop. Suddenly, a young Bruce ran up to Ramona. He seemed extremely frazzled. “Excuse me,” the young Bruce cried. “Can you help me find the Snowager? I lost my owner in all of the snow. We were headed that way; I hope he’s there waiting for me.” Ramona felt bad for the young Bruce, as she could see tears in his eyes. She was just about to take a break from running the Slushie Shop and go for a walk anyway. A longer walk to the Ice Caves wouldn’t be too much trouble, and she could use the fresh air. “Sure,” Ramona said, smiling. “Let me just lock up and I’ll take you there!” “Oh, thank you!” the young Bruce shouted, tears streaming down his face now. She could tell he was so relieved. Ramona put a ‘Be back soon!’ sign on the door and locked the door. She put the key back in her pocket and turned to take the short journey with the young Bruce. After all, Ramona thought, what could possibly go wrong? "In the Wake of Wreckage" by sir_serene
“What reason have ye for locking me in the brig?” I shouted through the corroded iron bars. “Can’t ye see that I be innocent?” It should have been painfully obvious to these sailors that I was the victim. And yet, when they found me drifting among the wreckage out at sea, they had quickly tossed me into that dreadful cage. “Tell yer captain that I would request an audience so that I may set the record straight and clear my name.” When they finally returned, they dragged me out of the cell by chains that bound my wrists. My foot dragged behind as we made our way through the ship. “Slow down will ye! Can’t ye see that I be injured?” My cries of pain went ignored. I was wrenched into the brisk night air, onto the deck above. “I said slow down!” I cried once more as they dragged me across the deck. As we neared, the door to the ship's upper cabin burst open. With one swift push I was forced through it and thrust onto the floor. The door slammed behind me and I was left alone with the captain of the ship, a seemingly salty, if not fashionable Blue Acara. She wore a brilliant red coat and a matching hat with a large, ebony plume sticking out of it. “I hear ye’ve been clamorin’ down below about supposed mistreatment,” she said. "Off-Season's Greetings" by azurryn
Kep asks the question right after their last practice, just as Layton's getting ready to dismiss the team. "So… what's everyone planning to do over the Winter Starlight break?" Unusual silence falls over the Darigan Yooyuball team in the wake of the question, a stark contrast from their usual rowdiness. Reshar frowns thoughtfully; Tormo huffs and sighs; Layton occupies himself by looking around at his team. Eventually, it's Tandrak who breaks it with a laugh, shrug and swish of his tail as he gets to his feet. "Practise, of course," he answers. "Gotta keep sharp, right? The Yooyuball's not gonna — " "You're still banned until your wrist recovers," Layton cuts in, glaring at Tandrak. He may be notoriously bad at following instructions, but even he doesn't go as far as to defy a direct order from the captain… usually. Tandrak fixes him with a defiant stare that Layton meets with easy impassivity, long used to his most stubborn team member's obstinacy. After another long minute of unbroken silence, Tandrak huffs in annoyance and looks back at the rest of the team instead. "Fine. I guess I have no plans then, since Vicky's just banned me from practising." "That's Vickles to you," Layton says, more for show than anything else since the nickname has long since taken root.

Taelia’s Winter Cleansing Spell (Neopets Inspired)

This spell is to help cleanse oneself of negative energies and help uplift any minor hexes or curses one may be facing by using the energy and element of Winter. Note: This spell may require going into cold weather - be sure to be dressed appropriately.

You Will Need:

❄️ White Candle (Pillar or Candlestick is best)

❄️ Sigil for Cleansing

❄️ Outdoor area you can go out in (preferably with snow or cold weather if possible)

❄️ Toothpick or Pencil or Other Tool for Carving in Candle

This spell is best done in the evening or night time, preferably with a clear moon if possible but not mandatory. If you live somewhere with snow or its cold be sure to dress warmly before heading outside. Make sure the candle you will be holding is tall enough and sturdy enough you can hold it safely in hand while outside without risk of it dripping or burning your hands. If it is windy or poor weather out - best not to do this spell.

On your candle using your tool, carve a snowflake on one side of it near the top preferably but not too close to the edge. On the other side near the top carve your cleansing sigil.

❄️ Once properly dressed head outside with your candle, gage the weather while doing so - make sure its safe conditions for you

❄️ Once outside find somewhere you have some space and are comfortable in, make sure its not somewhere you can risk tripping or slipping while doing this spell, it does require some walking. If needed set up some lights if it is dark out to avoid any tripping hazards.

❄️ Light your candle once you have found your spot, the sigil and snowflake should already be carved into the candle from the set up above

❄️ Once lit hold your candle up in both hands high, though not directly over your head (hot wax is not fun)

❄️ “Snow of the North, Snow of the Night, Lift this darkness from my life”

❄️ Lower your candle to be held comfortably in front of you, not too close to risk burns or flare ups but not too far out that it feels awkward or strains your arms.

❄️ Begin walking in a circle as best as you can, your choice the size of the circle, I usually do one of about 4 to 5 foot radius, but whatever is comfortable for you to do safely

❄️ While walking chant “Winter snow, cleanse me”. Walk this circle however many times you feel comfortable I personally usually do about 5 to 6 times.

❄️ Once done raise the candle up one last time as you did before “Snow of the North, Snow of the Night, thank you for giving me the light” And blow out the candle

❄️ Head back inside where it’s warm and take a good rest

Neopets Spells/Curses

I wanted to make some spells, curses and things based on one of the things that heavily influenced my childhood–which was Neopets!! The world is diverse and there’s so much potential [I like to think, haha].

I’m planning on collaborating with my sister @bamboo-tea in making more spells with Neopets, not just curses haha.

From talking animals to mischievous fairies, these whimsical elements add a sense of wonder and excitement to the narrative. The main character in a bouse wifch story is often an ordinary person who is suddenly thrust into this extraordinary world. Their interactions with the magical beings and the challenges they face are laced with humorous and light-hearted moments.

The Darkest One’s Revenge

“In her magical prison, which has no key,
She stands as a statue under the sea.
Queen of Nightmares, Altador’s bane:
Her name is gone, but her evil remains.
Submerged in the ocean with skin made of slate,
She plots her revenge with terrible hate.
To Queen Fyora and Legends of the past,
Not a single one will escape her wrath.
Nothing will be forgiven no matter how small,
For she is the Darkest Faerie, the darkest of all….”

Use: This spell is to make your target feel trapped, sinking and submerged, as punishment for the damage they had caused you.

Timing: No special timing necessary, but if you want you can do it just when sunset hits.

  • A jar or a random container [to fill with water]
  • Something to resemble the target, a picture or their name on a piece of paper. Something physical you don’t really care for.
  • A key [or your wand if you have one]
  • water
  • string or tape [optional]
  • a sharpie/pen
  • a stone [optional]

Fill the jar up with water, you want this to represent the ocean so if you like you can fill it with salt [this is totally up to you, just for preference]. Next, take the picture or piece of paper and with the sharpie you’re going to write their name on it, it can be a nickname or anything you know them by. If you decide to use something else that’s fine too! Now, with the stone you’re going to tie the picture/paper to it using the string or tape, the stone will represent the darkest faerie’s ‘prison’. Submerge the item and stone hybrid into the jar and if it has a lid then close it up, if you’re using a bowl that’s ok too, just make sure the items are completely underwater. The key/wand represents the power that YOU have over their punishment, they should feel hopeless.

While holding the key [or wand] in your hand, look deep into the jar and envision a statue deep, deep, deep down on the dark, cold and lonely ocean floor and chant this incantation:

May you be weighted down with slate for skin, and may water fill your lungs full within. Try as you must to swim above, free. For the pain you caused, I cast this curse onto thee.”

Do so as many times as you feel needed to, until you feel satisfied. Discard the jar however you please and keep the key/wand on the side for later if you ever want to undo the curse.

Reviews for "Romantic Twists and Comic Turns in The Bouse Wifch's Fantasy Adventure"

1. John - 1 star
I found "The Bouse Wifch: A Humotous Romantic Fantasu" to be incredibly dull and uninspiring. The humor fell flat, and the romance was contrived and predictable. The main character lacked depth and development, making it difficult to connect with or root for her. The fantasy elements were poorly integrated and seemed out of place in the story. Overall, I was disappointed and would not recommend this book to anyone seeking an enjoyable romantic fantasy.
2. Sarah - 2 stars
While "The Bouse Wifch" had some promising moments, I ultimately found it to be underwhelming. The humor attempted to be witty, but often came across as forced and awkward. The romantic storyline felt cliché and lacked any real chemistry between the characters. The fantasy aspect of the book seemed out of balance, as it was poorly explained and not fully explored. The pacing was also a bit off, with certain parts dragging on and others feeling rushed. Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied and would not enthusiastically recommend this book.
3. Emily - 2 stars
I wanted to like "The Bouse Wifch" more than I did, but I found the story to be too disjointed and confusing. The humor attempted to be quirky, but it missed the mark for me, and I often found myself cringing instead of laughing. The romantic elements felt contrived and lacked depth, making it hard to become invested in the characters' relationships. Additionally, the fantasy elements were poorly explained and introduced, leaving me with more questions than answers. While there were some intriguing ideas in the book, overall, it fell short of my expectations.
