I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over again in my reviews of the books in this series but I promise they’re true in every case. This book was filled with everything that makes a story great. The growth of the characters that we have all come to know and love is fantastic and the humor is present at every turn, despite the seriousness of their situation. Ilona Andrews writes incredible stories of good vs. evil and this is one of my top favorites of all the books that I’ve read by them. This book has is an emotional finale that will be hard to beat. I loved everything about this book and I highly recommend it. Read Iron and Magic first though because that story leads into this one. It’s another good one so it’s worth the wait to read this one.
If I were to make any literary allusions, I would consider this book to have incorporated the story traditions of the tales of medieval knights, with a modern and often horrific spin. Are we going to delve into what the heck kind of people Hugh aligned himself with because in that final battle when they gathered together and started chanted, I was like, WTF is going on here.
Throughout the books, Harry and his friends face various challenges and dangers, including the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. The books in the Magic Vites Series are known for their engaging storytelling, richly developed characters, and intricate plotlines. They have captured the imaginations of readers young and old and have become a global phenomenon.

Casee: I’m not going to lie either, I was pretty disappointed with how the whole Roland thing was wrapped up. He was such a badass for most of the series. Kate defeated him in, like, five minutes. I really enjoyed their father/daughter relationship even though it was extremely dysfunctional. When Roland finally made his move against Kate, at one of her most vulnerable moments, it made me pretty emotional. I was kind of hoping for a truce by the end of the series.
The success of the series has led to the creation of movies, spin-off books, merchandise, and even a theme park. The Magic Vites Series has also been praised for its themes of friendship, love, and the power of good versus evil. Overall, the Magic Vites Series has had a profound impact on popular culture and has garnered a massive and dedicated fan base.
