Isadora Moon is back for her seventh adventure and this time she is off to the fair. If you haven't come across these books before, you are in for a treat! Isadora is half vampire, half fairy so totally unique and as Mini Reviewer, Izzie (6) is one of her biggest fans, this new release had to be our Chapter Book of the Month for March!

Here's the blurb.

Isadora Moon is special because she is different.
Her mum is a fairy and her dad is a vampire and she is a bit of both.

Isadora is excited for her first ever trip to the fun fair, but when she arrives it's not quite as magical as she expected. Perhaps the wave of a fairy's wand, or a drop of witch's potion, could make the fun fair truly spectacular.

What could possibly go wrong?

Our thoughts

Written and illustrated by Harriet Muncaster, the Isadora Moon series is perfect for young readers to gain confidence as they make the transition to chapter books. The fun stories are filled with magic and illustrated throughout so they really appeal to children around 5 years old and upwards. Parents will love Isadora too as the underlying message is a reminder that it is OK to be different!

Here's what Mini Reviewer, Izzie, thought of Isadora's latest adventure (may contain spoilers):

Isadora Moon Goes to the Fair is a fantastic story. Isadora Moon and her cousins Wilbur and Mirabelle go to the fair. There was nobody at the fair and the rides were all battered and old. When they went on each ride they used a little bit of magic to help it. Then lots of people came to the fair.

My favourite bit was when the animals came to life on the carousel and when the dodgems got bat wings and were flying through the air. I also liked the part where cousin Mirabelle gets a bit carried away and magics some monsters alive!

So there you have it, another exciting addition to the Isadora Moon series and a great illustrated first chapter book to get little imaginations running wild. This series has certainly made Mini Reviewer Izzie enthusiastic about reading and we are delighted that there will be an extra special eighth book out in Autumn 2018.
